I checked both of the spare HiFlo filters that I have, and compared them to the one that was currently in the bike.
This is the HiFlo filter that has been in the Airbox since I changed it a few years ago.
It definitely was working................No dirt got past this one.
Compared it to both of my new spares.
Other than the slight difference in the angle of the Triangle part of the filter frame, they were the same size.
Looking at the one I took out, it's entirely possible that the triangle was originally the same as the new one, and it warped from being bolted down inside the airbox for that long.
Inspecting how the Airbox Cover holds the air filter in place, it has some extra little "Wings" at the very front, and along each side.
It also uses the center "Post" along with the center-screw to bolt the triangle part to the lower half of the Airbox.
The new HiFlo filter fit into the lower Airbox without having to force it in there.
It wasn't just "Drop-In", but it pressed in pretty easily.
I started at the very front, and snugged the screws down as I went toward the back.
The top cover fits all the way tight against the lower half.
I saved the center-screw until last, and as I snugged it down I could tell that it was bending that triangle part down until it contacted and the screw tightened all the way.
I'll probably run this one, and the other spare one that I have until it comes time to buy another air filter.
I probably will not buy another HiFlo. Will most likely order an OEM one next time.
