Hello,

Does anyone have experience with them? They are in Newmarket, Ontario.

I want to improve my Engine Braking, throttle response, traction control setting remain at last selected and any other gains improvements.

But i don't want to lose any Gas Mileage. I think right not it is awesome. 2020 ES model

i don't have any upgraded pipes, air at this time.

What do you mean by improving engine braking. Most flashes reduce the amount. I specifically told Anthony (forum member) NOT to touch that and he left it alone.

I had him do mine a couple of years ago, did a post on it a while back. He did an awesome job, made a night and day difference for me. I wanted the engine braking gone and there was a massive difference between Tour and Sport. He did a great job for me, I highly reccomend him.
Oh and my milage got slightly better and it ran cooler too.

Glad you weighed in. I remembered someone wrote a positive post on this company a while back, but didn't recall exactly when.

So you had adjustment to both modes?

Can you elaborate further on the changes?

Gas mileage?

Any increases in power or torque?
If you do a search for Flash Believer it should be in there. I think I went from 5.1l/100km to 4.7l/100km, something like that. Plus about 4 hp increase but the real difference was in just how much smoother the power delivery was.

Rob, did Chris map both your modes ie twice the time on the Dyno? If so, what was the difference you asked for between the two maps and how long did it take him?

SpeedLab did my 2020 about a year ago.
(Forgot to ask about the TC chg to stay where last set) Have since tried to contact regarding this with no response)
Flash made a very nice smooth T mode much better for 2up.
S mode has way more bottom end than stock. (Takes a good while to get used to it)
Mileage did not chg ( I did lose 5-10%from TMM TIRES. They are very heavy.)
Engine runs smoother and stronger exhaust note.
Did 3 dyno runs with reflashs in between. Picked up 4-5 Hp and same for Tq with TMM tires mounted. Pretty sure another 3-4 Hp would show up with lighter radial tire installed.
I ride with buddy who has twin to my bike. Mileage is comparable. He has not as yet decided to get his flashed.

S and T are just throttle maps, so the difference between them is only how much/quickly the twist grip opens the butterflies. There is only one set of fuel and spark timing tables so these are the same for S and T. However, both S and T can be improved in linearity / progressiveness compared with stock. My understanding is that Chris offers three options - a generic flash (which is great!), dyno-tuned fuel table (which most people go for) or dyno-tuned VE tables, fuel and spark (twice the cost of the fuel table ~£1k, but not worth it for a slug like the ST!). All will have better S and T throttle maps, reduced engine braking, no fuel cut, lower fan temps.

It's worth remembering that discussions about remaps can be like comparing apples and oranges because the EU Gen 1, Gen 2 Euro 3 and Euro 4 bikes all have different tunes and these differ from the US bikes, so the perception of changes will vary!

Very well said, I have mentioned this before but you have put the point across very well. ;)
