Anyone carry spare fuses in your kit?

If so, what do you stock? I was thinking of adding some 5A, 7.5A, and 10A mini fuses to my roadside kit.

Thoughts?

Yes, I carry spare fuses. I've only ever blown one fuse, and that was the headlight fuse, a couple years ago.

I carry the following spares:

Mini Fuses:
30A (ABS Motor Fuse)
20A (Headlight, ABS Solenoid, Radiator Fan, Ignition, Handlebar Outlet)
15A (Handlebar Outlet, Dashbar USB Outlets)
7.5A (Signaling System, ABS Control Unit, Parking Light)
5A (Rear USB Outlet, Zumo XT Power Supply)
3A (OEM 12 Volt Outlet)

Full size Fuse:
15A (onboard tire inflator)

That's absolutely overkill, but it's just the way I roll. Out of all those, I'd say the one you're most likely to need is any fuse that protects an outlet that you plug stuff into. The 3A fuse in the OEM 12 volt outlet is one that gets blown when guys plug air compressors into it. I carry spares for my add on 12 volt outlets and USB outlets mainly in case anyone ever plugs something in that has a short (the 12 volt outlets are wired to handle 15A and 20A loads).

One that I don't carry but should is a 50A main fuse, just in case I ever have a moron moment and mix up the leads when I reconnect the battery.

I don't think you need a 15 amp for the bike, unless you have an ES model. I carry a spare for my outlets and my air compressor.

I carry all the fuses in spare.

But I miss the most important one in the discussion and that's main 50A fuse (that red one). Costs a little fortune (25 euro, pound or dollar or more) if bought at the dealer (Yamaha). It is a normal 50A PAL female fuse that can be bought anywhere for around 5 euro, pound or dollar. Better buy two. You won't be the first one to blow immediately the spare if replaced before looking for the cause of the trouble.

Having the other fuses as a spare is actually an overkill as there are spares on the bike in the fuse box and also fuses can be interchanged if necessary. But I carry them nevertheless for my own comfort.

But adding two main fuses as a spare definitely makes sense!

Standard fuses available at any auto parts store. Between that and never having blown one on any of my bikes, I don't bother carrying any beyond the couple spares included in the fuse box.

I've blown the 3A one before. It's my only charging port while on a road trip, so ... :)
