Fly shield (cut down 2012 oem shield)

Hey “mmmotorcyle”, very nice ride, indeed. I wonder if you can please edumacate me on what the “Fly shield (cut down 2012 oem shield)” modification is? I also have a spare 2012 OEM windscreen which I would like to put to possible use:)

Also, is this a non-ES bike?

Thanks in advance.

my apologies, Im not getting email notifications for this post.

Bike is in Prescott,AZ. Arizona e-titles are electronic titles (no hard copy). Makes transfer between AZ residents easy with the click of a button. For an out of state buyer, you request a hard copy.

Fly screen- I simply cut down a Gen1 screen and used Gen 1 hardware. It allows much better airflow when riding off road. Ill look and see if I have any pics of it mounted.

Non-ES

Not great pics but you get the ideaView attachment 92597
Hello mmmotorcycle. That modification you made to the old wind screen looks really useful for heavy motocross days. What did you used to cut it? Or do you know if there’s a link in this website that I should be looking up?

Also, will you be getting another adventure bike or are you thinning the herd? C6AD9C1D-4D9C-44D0-9455-44A4BB8BC5C0.jpeg

I used a fine tooth jigsaw and went real slow. Make sure you use plenty of tape around the cut so the body of the saw doesn't scratch. Polish up the edge with some fine grit sandpaper....I think I worked my way up to 800?

I bought a Tenere 700 to do some BDR's. The weight difference is noticeable, but it's obvious where they cheaped out vs the 1200. Cable clutch, no sub-frame, Swiss cheese exhaust hanger bracket, bulb turn signals, NO cruise control…
