Geez...

We have one instance of this happening about once a year and the first thing folks wanna' do is literally outlaw posting in the sales threads. Bit like folks wanting to outlaw guns because of one shooting. So far the original poster hasn't complained... Not one peep of displeasure from him... So what, pray tell, is the problem?

In fact, if you look carefully, long before poor adogarza made his post (two days out of a two day thread) the very first person to reply to this thread pointed out a lower retail price to the OP, and that OP handled it without rancor or complaint. Instead he just laughed it off and moved on without clamoring for any useless net-nannying.

It's his thread, and his stuff for sale... And if he doesn't have any problem with what others have posted in it why should anyone else? :-\

You have no idea what is being said off line. He is just not as vocal as some.. Myself included.
No matter how, or what color, you paint it, it is not correct.

Well, as with most things... That depends entirely on your point of view, now doesn't it? ;)

Not really,, you should have been in vendors. And that is where you are now. If not, the boys are not doing their job.. lol.
You started a thread that should have been in vendors and I replied to that.
It is not kettle meet pot, as much as, dealer meet dealer.

Do you not understand the difference between what you were doing and what the assholes were doing, in a private for sale thread???
You always have been a little late to the party...

Terry, there is a big difference between that thread, and the responses to this thread. He was representing a dealer and needed to be in the vendors. I responded to a dealer.

This is quite different compared to a private for sale thread that is being trashed by people that have no interest in buying the product.
I really don't understand why you, and others don't see the deference??? If it were your sale thread, I'm sure you would understand., Ahhh, maybe not..

Extended Warranty Group Buy

My uncle has been a Yamaha Dealer in western NC for almost 40 years. Here's the deal:

Your bike must currently be under warranty. The YES warranty is in addition to the factory warranty. It is transferable and in my opinion, that alone makes it worth the price.

You need your SERIAL NUMBER and your CREDIT CARD in hand.

Call (336) 846-7744 and ask for "ET". Tell him you want to purchase a YES warranty for your super tenere and you heard about him on this forum.

His website is http://www.yamahaofjefferson.com/

The pricing is as follows, for super teneres:

1 year- $264.00

2 years- $324.00

3 years- $372.00

4 years- $414.00

NC residents ADD 6.75% sales tax.

Request must be made in the original purchasers name.

Yamaha Y.E.S. warranties are available for units that are out of warranty, as well. Ask for pricing.

I understand there are options on EBAY and elsewhere that may be a little cheaper. I can't speak for them. What i can say, is that when you call Yamaha of Jefferson, you will speak to the owner and you can rest assured that you are getting what you want, a Genuine Yamaha Y.E.S. warranty.

If you are in NC, ride in and see him!

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Re: For Sale Yamaha clear wings

Hey Jim,

I guess that's what the moderators are for. At the time I happened to be looking into the extended warranty and was happy as hell to get both bloodlines information and yours about the cost. I really didn't give a rats @ss which part of the forum provided it. Maybe that's wrong but was looking for info.and found it. Both you guys were helpful and with that info I could make a good decision.

And I see that the same way here. Not sure if the original poster saw it that way but he seemed to and the way the better price info was presented wasn't malicious?

Best part about a forum is the exchange of info and we all have to sift through it.

I'm sure you know this is one of the mellower sites!

Cheers and I appreciate that you provide input.

So it's ok to bash someone's for sale ad as long as the original poster is not actually profiting from the sale?

I posted that in vendors, btw. There were no rules at the time.

You were representing your uncle at the time and were doing so in the open for sale forum. As I remember you were later moved to the vendors forum.
As it is now, you really have nothing to add to this thread, other than BS.

Re: For Sale Yamaha clear wings

Ok, this is my last post to this thread... Thank God.. ::025::
You all know the difference between posting in a for sale thread and helping the seller, and not helping the seller.
When you post in the thread, ask yourself, am I helping the OP, or am I just posting for the hell of it????

If a poster is trying to sell something, he does not need to be reminded of a lower price in the open forum. A PM will help so much more.

If you are selling something, would you want a person, that is not a buyer, to tell you, it is available for xxxxx at xxxx.
I really don't think so.
Now it is up to the pot stirrers to back off or continue to come all over the thread.
Bye

I deleted my offer to buy the wind wings for the tenere good luck with your sale. It would have been helpful had you bothered to respond to any offers.

No. It was posted in the vendors forum originally. People like you resulted in rules be made. I have plenty that I could add to this post, like a group buy for Yamaha products like wind wings thingys.

Geez, I haven't seen such tap-dancing since Fred Astaire was alive and kickin'... ::025::

So what you're saying is it depends entirely on your viewpoint, but only your viewpoint counts, right? ::)

In other words, you, and only you, get to decide whether or not it's OK to post competing price info in a seller's thread - i.e. you can post such info in Bloodline's thread and that's A-OK, but folks doing it in other seller's threads is wrong. Kind of a double-Japako-standard there, don'cha' think? :-\

You can try and rationalize it sixteen ways from never, JPK, but no matter how you slice it you're walking both sides of the street...
