As long as you are upfront and honest, there would be no reason for it to go south. If it had, it wouldn't had been your fault.
I've sold many bikes over the years, and two recently. Always have a fear of getting a phone call blaming me for something. Years ago I sold an 80's Mustang 5.0 and the guy called and said it had a blown head gasket. After having him explain how his journey home went he admitted to over-heating the car and instead of pulling over he "thought" he could make it. I told him he did it to himself and he could pound sand. He kept texting until i told him I looped my attorney into the text thread. Ever since that event I've been nervous for a while after each sale no matter how upfront i've been on the car / moto.My dad was in sales his entire career. He loved his job, going out and socializing. I just don't have the fortitude to do that. Fizzer was a nice as he could be, but I get stressed out prior to the sale, "If this thing goes south, this fellow traveled all the way from Mass and it's gonna be my fault". Now, who can I blame?
Yup, whatever the outcome. . . . he can't say he wasn't warned. I try to plan for hurdles/problems. . . . Mr. Murphy is a frequent companion of mine.. . . . In this case, if he posts later that he got popped for running the wrong plate on the bike I'll just chuckle.
I didn't have any specific expectations and my experience was all that is mostly documented already. No surprises and I love the bike.Congrats on the safe ride home. So, how was the ride? Better, or worse than you expected?
I can see why you think she's heavy considering your previous rides.. . . . The bike is HEAVY. . . .
. . . . Felt no big difference in the ES settings. Need to pay around more...
. . . . The cruise control was blinking and going bonkers every once in a while. Had to switch off then On and it worked fine after. Not sure if this is a universal problem. . . .
Yes, it's a heavy beast. The twin is a definite switch from the FZ1 (I had a Gen1 Fizzy for 10 yrs) but once broken in, I've come to love it. Mostly because it does what I want (it's flashed), without constantly whispering "faster...c'mon, let's go faster!" And I've grown to love the handling as well. You'll notice the ES setting changes on real shitty roads. As far as the blinking CC....was the front brake switch assembly recall done?I didn't have any specific expectations and my experience was all that is mostly documented already. No surprises and I love the bike.
Some random initial thoughts... My comparison will be based on my two existing bikes... DR650 & FZ1
The bike is HEAVY.
Highway driving experience was great. It felt like a heavier/powerful DR650/thumper
I like the FZ1's inline 4 cylinder performance & smoothness better than this... but I will get used to it.
Didn't miss a beat the whole 1600 miles. No doubt am a Yammie fanboy.

Did I mention that the bike was heavy
@Sierra1 @VRODE
My 'heavy bike' comment was more when pushing it around or when stopped, While moving I have no issues at all. Still feel a bit intimidated to take it off- pavement for now. But eventually plan to...
I will try out the ES settings in different riding conditions. Doesn't bother me much for now.
I am not sure if the recall was done or the ECU flash... I have asked @Conflubmw. Bike seemed very smooth and quite powerful to me...
I have the gen1 FZ1 too... probably will go up for sale soon. I hope I don't miss her much... or Maybe I will keep it... View attachment 81447
Sounds like Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance to me...Sorry to disappoint some of you guys, but except butt sore.. no issues.
I was traveling legally as per my research, as per my insurance company and my "Registry of Motor Vehicles' as well as OK Tag agency. Every state may have its own rules and everyone may have their own stories. My story was a happy one and I was not worried at all as I had all legal paper work.
@Conflubmw was a gentleman. It was a pleasure doing business with him. He took care of even small things like filling up the gas and checking the tire pressures and had all keys with the extras. And also so many other things. Thank you @Conflubmw!
Total of 1613 miles from @Conflubmw's house to mine. Stopped on the way to meet two of my old buddies. Had a great time. That's all matters. Sometimes we worry too much more than the actual problem.
But thanks all for the advice/suggestions.
I met only one cop who stopped to check if I needed help when I was stopped under a bridge for rain in NY state. Nice guy. I said I am good and was just took shelter from the rain. He wished me well and went his way. No other questions asked.
