I spray them with scotoiler 365. It has to be applied if you have rode in the rain or after you have washed it, but it's very easy to apply. My bike is 18 months old and up to now the spokes still look like new, they'll probably corrode quickly now I've written this. :-X

I'm going with Karson's sage advice on this:

"- the galvanization might corrode, but it will end up being a protective barrier against further corrosion. Remove it, and it'll only further corrode over and over. If you can deal with the spokes being dull in appearance, just keep on keeping on."

I simply don't have the time nor inclination to keep the spokes shiny, especially if I can justify that the dull appearance is actually a protective asset. I'm calling them "Matte Spokes" and Rollin'....

Talked me into it!
Admittedly, I was already behaving this way. But without the sound justification.

I didn't even clean the spokes during my great, "Gall Bladder-Removal/Percocet-Stoned Sidestand Cleaning" episode of 2013. Karson just made me feel better about it after the fact...

If I did clean the spokes I don't remember it...

yea but isnt it a job keeping pray off the disc,s ?

I just spray at an acute angle and cover up the disc on the opposite side with a piece of cardboard, I don't get any on the discs. There is a short video on the Scotoiler wesite showing how to apply this stuff

I have used this on the aluminum rims of my Goldwing. Had it on for 6 years and was still protecting when I traded it. Protected the "polished look" and brake dust washed off pretty easily. Don't see why it shouldn't work on spokes either. I will be doing mine this spring using the "spray". Just be sure you keep it off the rotors & pads while applying.
