the bendy exit pipe for the aftermarket silencer isn't to protect the indicator turn signals at all ....

its to protect the fender :D

could this be considered a rear end failure ???

Wow! Which can is that? I haven't noticed anything like that, yet, with the Wasp can, and it pretty much points straight back. Thanks for posting. I'll be on the lookout for this.

That is the Leo Vince. I saw this before posted by an owner in Singapore.

Greg (Wasp) was well aware of the potential to melt stuff and made sure in his testing that it was not an issue. It was developed for this bike , not just an off the shelf item with a few mods.

As they say in the Hitchhikers guide.. Don't panic.

The original exhaust pointing down also helps when you are crossing deep water. It tends to limit water intake as well.

Cheers

Your saying that his exhaust can he uses is NOT an off the shelf item? As I recall he has a supplier for the exhaust can and built a -one off- pipe and had it mass produce... Like a few others have done... Looks to me he buys this exhaust can 'off the shelf' and then built a tube and made a exhaust set up. What are you referring too is your statement?

Looks like he charges about $300-350 for a 18" tube ? Just what it looks like ??? ???

Does anyone know if Leo Vince has tweaked there pipe so this doesn't happen again? Anyone else have this issue? Might have been an install issue?

it actually comes with a insert to stop it happnin but i liked the sound of it without it in, i also tweaked the pipe out a tad to point it away from the fender, seems to have cured it not that i really thought it was a problem to start with i just thought the pic was funny ;D

I watched as the dealer rep had that part cut off of his bike altogether, just below the tail light. Then he had some kind of insert installed in the taillight so that it did turn signals too. No one could figure out where he would mount his license plate though. In the end we all suggested that he velcro it to the side case. But he drove off with it in the side case. Anyway, it's a thought. ;)

Nothing fits better than OEM. Aftermarket pipes are lighter, usually louder, and hardly ever give a significant boost in HP without a lot of other engine tweeks. They are a great way to lighten your wallet and add some bling to the bike.

FWIW, the tail/brake light already doubles as a turn signal.

The dealer rep told me that all of our engines are factory dynoed (is that a word> :) ).

He put on an aftermarket muffler and thought he was saving weight. I picked up his stock muffler... It is light, well under ten lbs.

Now I need to go look at the rear lights and see how they work. That would be too funny if it already did signal turns. Wonder what he spent on that?
