Treat for my 59th birthday! I traded in my TDM900 [have had 2 - great bike] and collected a black Super Ten'. Miserable weather, slimy Essex back roads [ I live in N.London] beautiful bike now filthy!! Not got out of touring mode yet and taking it very easy but loving it, even the new hip managed to swing over ok. more riding tomorrow then weather looks good for Sunday, try my pillion partner. So impressed by how easy it is to ride - a grown up TDM. Looking forward to learning more on the site from you vet's.

::004:: From Northants. I picked mine up on the first day of the 13 registration. I love the effortless engine and comfy ride that allows my battered body to go for hours, following SWMBO on her CBF1000.
Mine is black with the touring kit and the yellow World Crosser Decal Set. It looks as cool as it goes.
Enjoy the bike and this site, lots of good info and enthusiasm here.

Greetings.

Pop it into Sports mode, the overall performance is no more than the TDM, just it produces it a bit lower down, getting the TC to come on is pretty difficult on dry roads, this is bike is not an animal.

I have a mate with 60k miles on a TDM, one coilpack under warranty when almost new and a warped brake disc - hoping the Tenere proves as reliable ::008::

Welcome on, WW. Congrats on the new bike. I think you will find it very comfortable. You will notice a difference between the S and T modes. S mode is pretty snappy. You have to stop, or almost so, in order to change over. ::004:: to the forum. R. ::022::

You just need to close the throttle to change from S to T and vice versa. You can do that at whatever speed you like.

Welcome aboard and greetings from near Washington, DC. Hope you are going to discover more about what the ST can do and then enjoy it even more ::014::

Quite right !! Sorry, I was thinking of the TC. My bad. Hey, I only get to ride about 2 weeks out of the year. And, I'm old. Thanks for clearing that up. R ::008::

Thanks all for the welcome and advice, had a ride out today in central London, bit wider than the TDM but great away from the lights! Sleepless night - combination of excitement and security fears ( much as I loved it the TDM was unlikely to get nicked from my front garden).& bought an Abus granite lock n chain anchored to the wall. Winced at the price but peace of mind etc.
