I had the snatchy off-idle throttle that many complain about (at speed, lower RPM range - throttle transition goes from zero to warp speed). After the ECU flash, it seemed worse, which is not surprising with throttle restrictions removed. I previously had an '07 FJR, and this is a very common complaint with that model. The common "fix" in the FJR community is a G2 Throttle Tube and it cured my FRJ issue. G2 makes a tube for the S10, so I decided to give it a try on the S10 and again t has completely mitigated the issue. Thought I'd share and recommend the G2.

air pressure! I changed my bars after installing the grips. The left hand grip obviously needed to be removed, and I glued the piss out of it. So, I took and polished the end of 1/8" filler rod so there were no sharp edges, worked it in under the grip with lube and sprayed lots of air to get it to float. the throttle tube side will not be so easy, and if you have factory heated grips, it may not be possible as the grip and tube come pre-assembled.

Who did your ecu flash? The same thing can accomplished with a flash. I had AVC do my flash and my T mode has a softened throttle response for small openings but is still unrestricted.

Thanks for posting this up. I just got back from a 1,700 mile trip and throttle response (after reflash) wasn't to my liking at all. Especially in the twisties.

I'll give this a whirl.

I made it bit better but not enough to keep it. It's a very nicely made and easy to install.

FYI...Oxford Heated grips will not fit without modifications (e.g. grinding or sanding)

I used one of these on my wife's Triumph Street Triple. It really made a difference for her throttle control.

Can anyone clarify if you can use one of these with the OEM heated grips

I have to admit I wish the FT kit was around before I bought my ECU-U Flash, but alas it did not and this is potentially a fix (or at least an improvement) for that initial off-idle "enthusiasm", I do wonder if anyone at ECU-U actually rode the bike, or just did all the work on a dyno. I cannot believe anyone did much riding and not thought that initial roll-on was a bit too aggressive for most people.

I hate limp throttle response where you really have to wrench the throttle to get anywhere (i.e. T-Mode) but the ECU-U flash gives so much so soon, I would rather have to work the throttle a little bit more to get full grunt.

I am also considering a Power Commander to perfect the fuelling (and cure the surging caused by the Arrow headers) and did wonder if this could also improve that first little turn of the throttle.
