I installed a new skid plate that Mark from Madstad Engeneering made for me, they make the windshield brackets and windshields. We started out with a cardboard prototype, he put it into his CAD system and after 3 prototypes and test fittings he cut out the final design on their CNC plasma cutter, bent it on their break and tig welded it together. Powder coated it black and cut out the stainless steel mounting bracket on the CNC machine. The mounting bracket on the left side is designed to replace the factory spacer on the side stand, remove the side stand remove the spacer and replace it with the new spacer/mount. The skid plate does not mount to the engine oil pan, only mounts to the frame. All of the cutouts in the pan are designed after the honey comb shape of the radiator guard on the left side of the bike. Thoe drain plugs and oil filter are both accessible without removing the skid plate. If anyone is interested in purchasing one, contact Mark at Madstad for the price and availability, he said if enough people are interested he would make more. He also made me a new driveshaft boot shield and a brake cylinder guard to replace the factory ones.

Looks great. Congratulations on the oil cooler grid, and the filter cover, which reaches the bottom of the filter and allows you to change it without filling the skid plate with oil. And without anchors to oil pan. It would be like an improvement of the existing ones in the market
