Hey guys while i was at the dealership getting my right side hard case fixed i ended up buying the side wind deflectors and installing them while i waited. I'm not sure if their design is mitigating substantial amount side turbulence but on the ride back my arms and legs did feel less amount of wind pressure making the ride back easier. I'm just trying to justify $80 for these things. ::024::

I just bought a pair and tried them on a couple of cooler day rides. I find they direct air directly to the top of my thighs making my legs get cold. Took them off and confirmed this was indeed the case. I realize this contradicts the normally positive review, but thought I would share my impression. I will be leaving them off for now. YMMV

I didn't notice this with mine, but only have 150 miles or so on them. On my other bikes, the top of my thighs is often the coldest part of my body as I wear a heated liner and my feet seem OK too. I had not noticed cold thighs on the Tenere, but will pay more attention on my next ride.

One thing I'm curious about is if you are running a stock seat? I'm running the stock seat in the high position, and am about to get an additional two inches or so added. I suspect that will contribute to the cold thigh syndrome.

Stock seat, low position. I could probably even use the low seat from Yamaha, but don't want to change my seat/pegs relationship. It's about perfect so I'm just careful stopping/starting.

I love them and have ridden with them since day one. They make the tall screen much more effective and long rides are easier. I get less engine heat, practically zero.
Very comfortable ride, I would not ride without them.
