Don't know if this was brought up before, but I was wondering if there was any thought to splitting up the Teneres by generation model years as I have seen in other forums.
gen 1 Teneres 2010-2013
Gen 2 Teneres 2014- current.

Helps to understand the differences and what mods fit each generation of bike.

Thoughts?

Appreciate the input and yes, it's been brought up before. The original argument against it was that the Gen1 and Gen2 bikes really are almost the same bike. When the Gen3 bike arrives, hopefully we will have a reason to make a split though.

We've re-organized the Tech section since then and learned of another reason to minimize new areas. A lot of members just blast ALL new threads into the general Tenere discussion section, meaning that the two of us mods have to spend time moving threads into appropriate areas.

Hope you're coming back to Romney next April.

I like that idea, as for me, I may well be transitioning from Gen 1 to Gen 2 next year but do find insight of current owners of Gen 2 to be useful in making that possible move.

ok, I thought it might've been brought up. As far as Romney goes, its a big maybe. Already commited to a ride on May 6 to upstate New York (Rochester Area). If Romney is the week before, maybe I can swing a week off and do both.

I have had both Gen 1 and Gen 2 bikes. The Gen 2 definitely was an upgrade on several different levels. Now, there are so many similarities that it doesn't make a lot of sense to do it right now.
