there are smaller and more nimble bikes but for its type I think it can handle twisties just fine

had a trip to France in June and it felt good in the hairpins, I felt like it could trickle round at walking pace without any fear of me having to dab a foot out, counter steering was very responsive and even when things tightened up a prod on the inside bar end tipped things in nicely

I think the weight distribution coupled with the linked brakes (which stabilise the bike nicely into corners, no dive) help a lot,

test ride of course but I think you will be ok

I started a similar thread way back in November of 2015 when I was looking for a bike. It is located here:

After riding the new Triumph Explorer, BMW GS, and the ST I ended up with a 2015 SuperT ES. I love the machine and have farkled the hell out of it, including wrapping it. I really dig the wrap; BMW guys come over to it saying "cool bike what is it?" and then shriek in horror when they realize what a mistake they have made, liking a Jap bike. Okay, that last part isn't 100% accurate but one did say he thought it might be a new ADV bike he'd not heard about.

Shrek that's a great article there in your signature. My buddy has a GS and he said if the S10 was available when he bought his GS he would have bought the S10.....He rode mine for a bit and had a BIG smile on his face when we rolled up to the first stop sign after riding a hill with some twisties on it.

I love the GS too - I've watched Long Way Round about 3 times. If that show doesn't make you want to ride a BMW.....However, the practical man in me doesn't regret my decision to go with the S10 at all. Manufacturer/dealer support is important to me - you can't swing a dead cat in most sizable towns without hitting a Yamaha dealership. The way the bike performed for Nick Sanders was what made up my mind. I love the reliability of Japanese engineering.

Thank you
