Long story shore, this summer will likely be my last full summer in the PNW as a resident. Life is going to be taking my wife and I else where in about a year and a half. Thinking about crazy crap to do this up coming summer, and why not ride to Prudhoe Bay Alaska and back?

I could do this run solo but it would be much better to experience it with someone else. I am thinking of pulling this off over two weeks so it would average out to be 380 miles per day, do a combination of camp and hotel.

Would anyone be interested in pull this off with me?

KEvin, I caught glimpse of your conversation yesterday about this. There are some others here whom have already posted a thread about going to Alaska in 2013. You may just have to search some, as I don't know where it is off the top of my head. I hope you gained some insight on how to install the grips yesterday. It was a pleasure as always to have everyone over.

Jeff,

Likewise and thanks for the invite. I learned a good deal, form the install and it will certainly make my own go more smoothly. I am looking forward to doing some rides with guys who don't mind their bikes being dirty.

I will look for the AK trip thread.

Thanks again.

Yes I am interested for sure. We should discuss. I will need two extra days to get to seattle and back. I would be coming form the Boise area of Idaho.

You guys be sure to check in with me if you put this together. Make Whitehorse a major stop. Excellent dealership here, and lots of camping room at my place. Get showered up, cook some food, a little bike maintenance, whatever you need. I'm right on the way, and you're more than welcome. Keep me posted. R. Let's be careful out there. ::001::

20 days would be very tight for me. Not sure I will have that much time available without taking time off without pay. I have a 3 month old in the house now, those things are $$$. And my wife would kill me.

Seattle - PB = 57 hours.

At 8 hours per day riding, averaging 50 mph over the trip, that's 7.1 days up, obviously you'll want at least one day there, then back...can be done in 2 weeks... ;)

Then again, you could try for a saddle sore 1500 and just crash there until before things freeze...totally...solid...then come back... ;)

I am thinking it is 16 or 17 days minimum with everything going well....That's really booking it thru BC up to Whitehorse with three 500 to 600 mile days, a tire change in Fairbanks and 4 days up and back the Dalton. One afternoon of beer drinking in Coldfoot ::003:: and then hitting it hard all the way back.

2009 I rode from Kenai to Tok to Haines and AMHS to Bellingham. 3 1/2 days on the ship. Had a very good time. Actually you can ride from Anchorage to Bellingham in the same time as it takes to take the AMHS. 5 1/2 days at 400 miles a day. Does AMHS go from Homer to Bellingham?

My cousin and I are riding to Prudhoe Bay this summer. Late June To Early July time frame. This will be a leg on our six month long ride. Been talking/planing this ride for 3 1/2 years. Starts in 29 days ::012::
Need to take Rem up on his offer.
Will be blogging the ride at wwr2014.com

I wanna RETIRE! :)
(But my kids are still spending my money)

A 6 month ride? I'm gotta do that.
It's the only way I'll ever make Whitehorse and sleep on Rems porch.

Me and the Mrs are going. Leaving June 7 from San Fran. Probably won't go to Prudhoe bay. Doing the national parks tour thing.
