I thought I liked the bike better with my seat in the low position even though I am 6'3" with a roughly 34" inseam (maybe a bit shorter) and 225lbs or so. Mostly because I thought I prefered to sit "in" rather than "on" the bike, as in the difference between a KLR and a sport-touring bike.
I put it on the high setting again and it feels like I have better physical control over the bike during slow manouvering and tipping into corners - flicks over easier it seems. Also doesn't hurt to give the old legs a little more room to stretch so they aren't quite as tucked under.
I have the Yamaha tall windshield on highest setting and winglets and this combo seems to work pretty well. Tried the stock windshield again tonight as an experiment on all settings and then put the tall shield back on. Could NOT find a setting with the stock shield that didn't result in me taking a full frontal of wind or experiencing helmet buffeting like crazy. Tall shield is WAY better - on the highest setting I get a little wind near top of helmt. Can ride with shield up and not take a wind pounding in the face.
Just an observation - I think any improvement on ergos which enhances control is a good thing. Maybe there is an even better setup out there?
