I found this on another forum and it sounded interesting. Has anybody tried them on other bikes? They don't make one for the Tenere yet, but I have emailed for info. It comes with new foam and a new cover.

Any info?

Re: Seat Concepts-- Anybody use this seat builder?

Lots of folks think their DRZ offering is pretty good, although it doesn't take much to improve a DRZ seat.

On another note, have you considered the rear under fender guard from Diapason?

Re: Seat Concepts-- Anybody use this seat builder?

I was in on a group buy last year for my WR250R. SeatConcepts was great to deal with. I went with a dished out seat with the firmer foam. I spoke with the owner over the phone to work out my riding style, needs, and weight. They mainly seem to do dirtbike style seats. It is an improvement over the stock seat on longer rides. Also, the lowered dish was worth the price alone. It turned my seat from one that was adequate at 10 miles in, marginal at 50 miles, and brutal at 100, into one that is marginal from 0-100 miles. ??? The seat is alright from the start, and doesn't get worse the longer I sit on it. I think the firm foam I went with is the reason the seat is not as comfortable as the plush soft one (at first).

However, I'm not sure I'd want to do the same with the seat on my XT. For me, the stock low seat is working out very well.

I'll have to take this one off my radar. Received an email today.,..
Jim,
We do not offer a seat for that model at this time. Sorry.
Robert

It really does sound like a good deal and maybe later they will offer it.

I was also part of that same group buy. Great service, and excellent results. My WRR is still no Tenere, but a whole lot better. There is little to do to make the WRR into a long distance bike, but it sure helped. Now I can stand it for an entire afternoon, instead of only 25 miles. ::26::

I just ordered a kit for the front only. I used Seat Concepts for a seat for my KLX250SF and am VERY pleased with the outcome. ::012::

I will post pix of the conversion when the kit arrives, hopefully at the end of next week.

Another option for your fanny. I'm one that thinks the stock seat is OK. This looks like an economical solution to tweak the few problems I have with the stocker.

Yea Rob I bit the bullet and ordered one as well. The biggest complaint I have on the stock seat is support on the rear portion as well as some need for dishing. The Seat Concept guys claim these issues have been addressed. Looking forward to see if it's any better.

Is this to use with the mod; shorter rubber at the back of the front seat or when it's stock?

From what I understand, the front is built up to offset the down-slope on the stock seat. If that's the case I'm going to have to find some new bumpers.

Nothing to do with the Tenere seat shown, but the Seat Concepts DR350 seat was the best money I've ever spent on an accessory. Fantastically comfortable. Good luck with the Tenere seat.

The little brown truck left me a goody this PM. I opened the box to find this.

Well packed and the box contained the new foam, cover and instructions.

The Seat Concepts kit is as advertised. Higher front to eleiminate forward slope, a bit wider and slightly dished. The foam also seams to be firmer and thicker than the stock foam, though I'm certain my stock foam has compressed considerably over the miles.

I'll finish the install tomorrow and write a report after a ride to Florida this weekend.

UPS tracking says mine will arrive tomorrow. I sure hope the foam is softer than the Sargent!

Stay tuned...

Bare Foam Next to Stock Seat

Second View...

Covered Seat Concepts Seat next to Sargent Seat. (Seat Concepts Kit uses Stock Pan):

SC seat is taller at the front, and softer than very hard Sargent. Lower Angle:

From the Rear, Sargent on the Right, SC on the Left:

The seat is higher...in the low position it sits nearly as high as the stock seat in the high position...

Riding tomorrow and this weekend...

Stay tuned!
