I have sent an email to the guys giving my weight and height. Wanted to make sure the regular product would work for me or would I require a more dense foam. I plan on ordering upon receipt of their response. Thanks again for the pictures above that helped me make up my mind.
Right behind you in line. I sent an email a couple days ago asking if they could make me a S10 tall version but haven't heard back yet. When I ordered from them last year I had to call them because they didn't return my emails.

That's right no responses on email. So you have to give them a call around 5-6pm pacific time. I'v called twice and got to talk to someone both times.
Good luck...

Seat Concept update?

I did get an email returned, said to put your info in the order notes and they would provide denser foam for heavier rider like me. I have ordered and getting it stapled up at a local shop.

They answered my email today and they said they can make me a tall version this fall when orders slow down. I can wait. So far I don't mind the seat too bad. Rode 400 miles Saturday without a problem. Extra leg room is what I need. ::024::

If you're interested...

I have a Seat Concepts seat that I'm looking to trade for an oem plus $150.
I'm 6ft with a 31 inseam and 200lb if it helps.

The seat pan is from a 2012 with 1000 since November '12 and is immaculate.

Look well made. Why are you swapping?

Just got back from a 3 day, 1000+ mile ride and whilst the seat did everything they said it would (and more), it didn't help my particular situation.
My rear didn't ache once... butt bones, tail bone etc all felt very comfy but my problem area is the top of my thigh and (apparently!) I need "Big boy wings!" which come on the Russell seat.
They need the original pan to custom build the seat and the SC seat is way too good for it to be just cast aside, so...

Here I am, looking to recoup some to go towards the rather pricey Russell which I've decided to bite the bullet on.
Rather than offer it up for straight sale, thought I'd offer it up to Kevy as he's the OP here... Snake has already said he's interested in it too.

I'm not sure what density foam you're getting for your SC seat. I bought the standard first and at 220# found the foam to be too soft. I sent the foam back and they sent a replacement with higher density foam. So far it's been great. The replacement foam gives more support. So, if you're about my weight and the foam you got is not giving you the support you need, just give them a call -- they're great to work with.

The guys from Seat Concepts told me to put my weight in the notes section of the order. I am about the same weight as you and that they would include the higher density foam from the start.

Great Clint64. I hope you like the new seat as much as I do.
It's supposed to arrive today. I hope to have it on this weekend. My butt is excited about getting rid of the stock seat. ::012::

Got my Seat Concepts on today. Installed at a local upholstery shop, $20, 20 minutes, ride in with stock seat, ride out with "new" seat. So far, so good with only a couple of 30-minute commutes. Now my seat is a little wider than my butt and the annoying forward slope is gone. I had the stock seat tilt modified, still wasn't "level" enough. The Seat Concepts seat is mounted as OEM and I don't feel the need to tilt it up in the front. The standard perforated seat top material is not as grippy as stock. I'm neither here nor there about that. The foam feels harder, not too hard and I expect it will soften as it heats on longer rides, in warmer temperatures, and/or breaks in. I weigh about 185 dressed to ride.

Can I ask how tall you are/inseam? I personally don't care for the OEM seat cover as it is too grippy.

6' tall, 34" inseam. I prefer the seat in the low position because I feel more like I'm sitting in the bike rather than on top of it. Now that I say that, and have 16,000 miles on it that way, maybe I'll move it to high position to see if I've changed my mind about the seat height.

Got mine in today. Going to try to install myself but may have to get better stapeler. What has worked for others?
I installed a Seat Concepts seat on my KLR seat pan with an electric stapler. Worked fine. You need to put firm pressure on the stapler for it to fire into the plastic seat pan or it will kick back.

Got mine on today. I was able to use a standard staple gun. Had to tap a few staples down with a tack hammer. Overall a very easy install. Feels very nice sitting let you's know after the first long ride
