I recently purchased the unit with a mounting bracket from this here http://www.off-the-road.de/en/XT-1200Z/Suspension/Steering-damper-XT-1200Z-Super-Tenere.html
and I'm glad I did. Before putting the damper on, I thought that my 10 was stable and handled extremely well, the stabilizer made it so much better and more stable. It feels like I could hit a deer and the bike wouldn't jerk.. I highly recommend the product. Installation wasn't hard, some drilling is required. Shipping was quick, less than a week.

What year is your Tenere? The kit is made for 1st gen only, but is supposed to be bolt-on. What drilling did you have to do?

no drilling, but you have to tap threads into preexisting holes. The holes are the two holes in the frame just in front of the air box. I think it's an m10 tap.

mismatched tires can be unstable , to much rear preload will cause you high speed instability... its not the bike its an owners issue....
