That takes a lot of balls!! You crash, you're hitting something...and it's going to hurt, if you're lucky. Looks incredible. I definitely don't have the right stuff to try it.

End of May / beginning of June, so you can still get there!

At 237 deaths, I think Isle of Mann has the distinction of killing more in practices and races than any other circuit.

to put those figures into perspective, more people have died climbing or attempting the ascent of Everest in the same time frame.
man will always push himself to the limits in his chosen area of activity.

You can still enjoy the "no speed limit" roads at more sensible speeds, this is my ride over the Mountain last year on my TDM900

I think Joey Dunlop was the most winningest rider of the Isle... But died there a few years ago racing.... Another of the new generation awesome riders almost died this last year when he fell off and the bike hit a stone wall and BLEW the heck up in a fire ball.. They red flagged the even... It was one of the very few times it ever been red flagged... Nutty fast riders......

I think I saw KEES new Diapason Super Tenere in this film clip......... Yes, that was him on his Super T'.... that thing is FAST !!! :D

If I am not mistaken, the guy going over the edge at 1:40 and 2:30 mins is Conor Cummins in June 2010 TT.

I was watching from about 200m further up the track. It was horrible. The helicopter ambulance had to fly halfway down the valley to get to him.

It happened at N 54 15 44 W 4 26 57 (cut and paste into Google Earth to see it).

Conor is a local lad from Douglas, about 5 miles further along the circuit.

I've been fortunate enough to have been to the TT three times. If you haven't been you must. If you can hire a bike and take the ferry, do it. Every time I see a TT video I get the urge to go again. Last time was the Cetenery TT . Thanks for the link OGR I was wondering if the bloke survived

I have the Arai RX7-GP Isle of Man Limited Edition helmet, and even that's scary fast lookin!

Some friends and I are thinking about going there maybe next year. But even from mainland Europe the travel to the Isle is a challenge.

Thats an understatement. It's even a challenge from mainland UK.

The ferry prices quadruple the week before and after the TT and B&B is extortionate. That is if you can get on the ferry or indeed find somewhere to sleep.

Ferry booking is done by many enthusiasts a year in advance.

There are always people selling their tickets before the Steam Packet full payment is required (sometime in February as I recall, but don't expect a discount) Check the iomtt.com site for homestay accommodations and tickets. Yah, it ain't cheap but once you sit on the patio at the Sulby Glen Hotel and watch a motorcycle go by at 180 mph literally metres from your table it will all seem worth it. And that's just a start

Isle of Man TT review 2011.

Yes, people die here every year, but the intensity and beauty of challenging the Isle of Man TT make it less insane than many of the "normal" things people invest there energy in during everyday life...

Love the slow mo shots ::008::

Thanks Combo..

I wonder if the TTX bikes will break the 160Km/h average this year.

MotoCzysz is my favorite "unobtanium" bikes. Love what they do, with both puffer power and electric.

Joey died in a real roads race in Estonia in 2000. I got to watch him race the TT a few months prior. Attending the TT and doing Mad Sunday had always been a dream of mine. Problem is, now I want to race it >:D . Maybe someday. In 2000 I flew in to Heathrow, rented abike at HGB in Shepperds Bush, rode to Heysham and took the Ferry. Home stay for 2 weeks was quite reasonable. I hope to do it again someday.

Silly me. Two of my favorite racers ever are James Whitham and Chris Walker. On the day I was leaving the island I hung out in a pub waiting on the ferry while shooting the breeze with members of the Boring old Fartz. I didn't realize until he was gone that the guy with a cast on his leg across the room was Whitham himself. Next time I'll pay attention.

I'm the one with the long hair in the top photo. Whitham was right behind me.

Me with the hair again.
