Hey guys, be aware of scammers. I got an email this morning wanting to know if I was still looking for a Sargent seat. He said a guy had one and provided an email. I emailed the guy, but he said he couldn't get pictures to email properly etc... I went to the PM and looked at the guy that sent it to me and he joined this morning! Do your homework before sending money to anyone! The user name was davidmcnicol so be aware!

If you use Paypal don't keep any funds in PP's hands and always pay "goods and services" through PP with a credit card. Do not let PP have access to your checking account and don't pay anyone you don't know with Venmo, Zelle or PP family and friends.

Thanks guys, this is typical scammer behavior! Didn’t trust the guy the moment he got in but there was nothing to go on at the time. He’s gone know.
Stay alert, at any given moment there are at least a dozen scammers/spammers/other rodents on any forum. Everything the OP mentioned is typical scammer behavior.

Ok, I'm going to need some extra eyes on this.

I just made some changes. Here they are:
1. A new user will NOT be able to create new private conversations until they have been registered for 2 days and have posted at least 1 public message
2. Once the above criteria are met, the user will be allowed to send private messages
3. As part of this change, I had to create new roles and role promotions (technical stuff) for this to work. It looks like it works, but if you lose the ability to create private messages please post here and I'll try to resolve.

Hopefully this cuts down on the ability of scammers to immediately scam, but as always, trust no one, verify!
