After much trepidation and hand wringing, I have made the move on a New 2014 Tenere'. Having been one of the first buyers of the original Tsunami shipment, me and the 2012 model have had many good times and miles. Kind of hate to see her go. The defarkling begins tonight and the new 2014 will be in garage this Saturday. Getting the ES model in Matte Grey finish. Looking forward to getting to know the new bike. Hope its as good as my original one.

It would be hard not to surpass your low expectations. I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised. Please provide a full review after sufficient time in the saddle.

Okay so the '14 made it to it's new home today. Initial impression is that this was a worthwhile upgrade from the 12, at least for me. Engine is noticeably smoother and better power delivery than my '12 had. I really like the new instrument panel, upgraded switches, and controls. LED turn signals, redesigned mirrors, and new top clamp and bar risers are nice improvements as well. Haven't had much time to mess with the suspension functions as of yet. Plan to get more miles on it this weekend for a more comprehensive report. Things I need first off to make it more complete are taller windscreen, crash bars, side wind deflectors, skid plate, and finishing mounting panniers and other stuff taken off my 2012. Dirt Dad previously asked what compelled me to make the switch. While I was happy with the 2012, I had been looking at the '14 and all its improvements and I just liked what I saw. Opportunity and timing fell into place at the right time to afford me to make the change, so I did. ::008::

A question or 2 for anyone who might know..... How tall is the OEM Tall windscreen as opposed to the regular OEM and has anyone yet tried the new Parabellum windscreen made to fit the new bracket? Will post some pics this weekend. Looking forward to getting out there on it his weekend. ;D

Congrats on your new 14

I also replaced my 2010 with a 14 three months ago and think it is money well spend, the pre 14 is good but the 14 is totaly different.

Like the one oke in SA said when he replaced his 11 with a 14 " it is the same bike, but it is totaly different, it is a awsome bike"

First, you may not need to add the side wind deflectors. I removed mine from my 12 with the plan on installing them on the 14. After getting the 14 home and beginning the process of installing them I noticed a new winglet mounted under the windscreen. After a few test rides and noticing exactly where the wind was I determined that they were not likely to make any difference so I sold them.

Here is a picture of the stock windscreen on top of the tall Yamaha windscreen. The height difference is about 3 and 3/4 inches, the side winglets are about 1 inch taller, and it is wider than the stocker.

Wow, Thanks bmac. That is exactly the info I was needing for the windscreen comparison. I will likely be ordering the taller windscreen. After a few miles of riding today I find that the stock screen wind management on the 2014 is much better than the 2012 design was. I think that extra size will suit me fine. Still doing the break-in miles for now but this new bike really goes. Much better engine response with no trace at all of factory induced stumble that was present in the '12. This engine pulls nice and smooth through all the ranges. Much bigger difference is felt between the 2 drive modes as well. T is really great for 2 up and S mode feels very strong to me. So far I am loving the changes.
