Anybody out there tried the Sargent seat on our ST? I'm looking at one for long distance comfort (also with Heat! ). Your thoughts/experience greatly appreciated ::013::
Sounds good. Thanks!Donk said:I had Sargent reshape and recover my stock seat. A huge improvement for not so much money. I am totally happy with it.
For what its worth when I was looking at the link for the guy that has 130,00 on his '12 S10 the first thing I checked was what seat he was using, Sargent. That says something.
I had this done also and liked it. When the Sargent World Sport seats came out, I got one of them and it was too hard for me. Later exchanged it for the version 2 World Sport seat, but it also was a bit too hard for me. The original that I had them reshape with their foam and recover is a better seat for me. Having said that, I recently bit the bullet and had a Russell Day-Long seat made on another seat base and I think it will be my seat of choice. Lots more $$, and a bit ugly, but it works. Therefore, I will take some pics today and offer up the very nice Sargent rebuilt seat for sale for a reasonable price plus exchange of a OEM seat or something that I could put on the bike when it comes time to trade again. I'll try to post later today in the For Sale section.Donk said:I had Sargent reshape and recover my stock seat. A huge improvement for not so much money. I am totally happy with it.

Some of this depends on rider weight and preference, riding style and quite frankly, your definition of long distance. If you simply want something to make those 300-500 mile days not a literal pain in the rear, the Sargent might be just the ticket. If you want something for 1000 mile days, move to Laam or Russell and you likely won't ever regret it. Especially if you're over 225 or so pounds in gear.oldbear said:Anybody out there tried the Sargent seat on our ST? I'm looking at one for long distance comfort (also with Heat! ). Seat comfort is so variable you really just have to try them. They come up for sale used often enough you can afford to buy and sell until you find the right porridge. The sargent didn't work for me but the corbin did. I've had great luck with sargents on other rides so that's not a slam against sargent.oldbear said:Anybody out there tried the Sargent seat on our ST? He's getting my money next month.
I had one and didn't care for it. The way it's dished out it sat me too far back from the handlebars. Probably better for a big guy, I'm just 5'7".oldbear said:Anybody out there tried the Sargent seat on our ST? I'm looking at one for long distance comfort (also with Heat! ).
