I just received an email for the Sargent seat, intro price of $499 for rider and passenger seat, or $50 off the MSRP.

My experience with Sargent seats on my previous bikes (1200GS, 800GS) was less than satisfactory, the Sargent seat was a slight improvement over stock, so I'm reluctant to take the plunge with this seat, especially that I don't find the stock SuperTen seat to be uncomfortable. I put shorter bumpers on the rear and an Alaska sheepskin buttpad and I'm good for all day riding..

Looking forward to feedback from owners of the new seat..

I am ordering a front for sure.

The intro offer is for the rider and passenger seats together. No mention if you can buy just the front. Let us know.

The Sargent I had on another bike was top notch and much better than OEM imo. I've already placed my order for the super ten seat (front and rear). If it's as good as the last one I had it will be hard to beat. ::008::

After a long and very painful ::010:: saga with a Corbin seat for my Super Ten, I ordered a front only Sargent. Had one for years on my WeeStrom and it is a big improvement over stock.

The Sargent shipped and will arrive on Friday. Will post pix and my impressions this weekend if the weather permits a long enough ride.

::009:: As a result of my ordeal with Corbin, I will never, ever, ever, ever do business with that bunch of waste products again. ::009::

For me, the stock seat was ok, and with a sheepskin a bit better, but still not comfortable for more than about 200 miles.

Hi Rob, was it a fitment issue with your corbin? I bought a front (from the forum), and later sprung for a rear (from forum). Corbin completely cocked up the design of the two seats, the rear interferes with the front, and makes it extremely hard for the front seat to latch. I wrote corbin and heard..................nothing back. thanks guys, you have a defect in your design, some one points it out, and, you carry on as normal ::010:: good job.

That rant out of the way :D
Front Sargent shipped out on tuesday, $25 discount and a free hat! ::014:: ::014:: ::014:: ::014::

Recieved mine yesterday and got about 50 miles in last night. Better than stock. Need to give it time to settle with my arse for final verdict. Plan to do 200 miles today....

Guess it pays to be closer to the factory!

Post a photo of it? Any issues with slope or height?

Where to start with the Corbin...

Well, the cover looked like this when it arrived:

Cover discolored from goodness knows what out of the box...

They have so much pride in their work at Corbin that they even work to get their logo perfectly placed...

Cosmetic crap aside, the seat would not latch. They didn't even include all the hardware that is needed. You have to move some pieces over from the stock seat, which makes it very inconvenient to swap seats. After 850 miles and a pounding with a rubber mallet, the seat started to latch. Nice quality control!!!!

At that point, it was clear that the seat was unworkable in that it sloped toward the tank in a really big way. Really unusable. It took them a month to respond to my repeated emails and calls. Then they were not open to doing much. Told them I wanted a refund. They convinced me to send the seat back for a rework. Included photos, instructions, and a request for the tech to call me to discuss the rework. Included info that I was going on a 2000 mile trip in August and needed the seat back in time. This was in early June. Crickets. Followed up with emails and phone calls for about six weeks. Nothing.

Called a final time and could not get beyond the receptionist. Left for the trip without the seat. Called and emailed from the road saying keep the seat and refund my $$. Next thing I get is an email saying the seat shipped out. That is equal to a fuck you in my book. Told them I was refusing the shipment. Since it was signature required, that would be easy... The UPS guy being a neighbor signed for it himself and left it for me. Sigh. Can't catch a break here.

Decided to be a good sport and open the package and try it out. The seat was worse than before. They had not followed my requests and had built up such a hump at the front that I literally brused my pubic bone riding the bike. The seating pocket was so far back that my arms were completely straight sitting on the bike. Now it was actually worse than before. After about another month of email and leaving messages, they finally agreed to a refund, even though that is against their policy. After 3 tries they got a carrier to pick up their P.O.S. seat, but no refund so far. Time will tell.

Corbin's customer service is the worst of any company I have EVER worked with. They are all lip service when they bother to even call or email back. They may have been good at this at some point, but not anymore. I am sure this is not the end of the story...

Looking forward to the Sargent arriving on Friday!

No slope so you stay where you intend to sit, height seems to be the same as the stock. Jury still out for comfort. Rode a few miles today and I still have a couple pressure points on my arse bones. Moving around a little helps. So far it's better than the stock seat, but will have to give it more time before I can reach a final verdict. And remember, my arse has been on a Russell for the past 4 years on my last bike so this one has a tall task to make me happy.....

wow, and I thought I had issues with the two corbins.
I ride solo, so it's one seat all the time. Corbin cocked up big time with the design. If any combination of seats is used corbin/stock, corbin/corbin, the front will not latch.
apparently the fix is to install an extra washer under the yamaha latch that you have to transfer over.

I am happy with my corbin, but find it a bit slippery, we'll see how the sargent feels against the corbin.
As I said, one seat no issues. see how they stack up.

As a side note on customer service....Sargent, ::026::

Sargent saddle was delivered this morning. ::012:: I actually ran home to grab my new iPhone 5 off the porch, but the saddle was there as well. ::018::

Put it on the bike before opening the box from Apple.

The seat latched and fit, first try. It also had all the brackets that were needed, unlike the Corbin. There is a neat document holder on the underside. Very nice!

The shape seems good, and the foam firmer than my previous Sargent for the WeeStrom. This is good in my book. Will give a ride report when I can put some miles on it this weekend. The weather looks crappy, but I am sure I will be out there regardless.

Stay tuned!

Only managed about a 20 mile ride this evening. The seat feels very firm, but the right shape and slope. I expect it to break in and form well. It is beautifully made and fits perfectly. Not slippery and not too grippy. The CarbonFX cover is good stuff.

In other news, the BlueTooth 3.0 in the new iPhone5 gets along great with the Zumo 660 and Scala Rider G9. Phew!

Ride Safe!

I had a Sargent seat on my ST1300 and liked it although I found it just a tad soft. Great craftsmanship and the document compartment & other storage area were nice additions.

The Corbin seat (I have had them on a Vmax, FZ1, ZZR1200, Bandit 1250, DL1K, all good) on the SuperT has worked well for me, just needed a few thousand to get comfy. The latch worked fine and I've done 700+ mile day rides with it. Never had to deal with their customer service, but it's not a good sign that some are experiencing such a poor response from the factory.

Just like noses, everyone's bum is similar, butt different. It is important to have that comfort on the longer rides especially.
