I just want to relate a ride I did this past weekend through New York and Connecticut. I've owned my S10 since October but really haven't been able to push the limits of my bike or my skills till this past ride. The bike is flashed and has a Stoltec suspension with a Penske shock and LV can. I was riding with 2 excellent riders, one on a brand new Multistrada and the other on a tricked out Tiger 1050. This turned out to be 280 miles, with 200 of them at an insane pace. I will leave commentary of my own skills out of the discussion :-\ I was pleasantly surprised, as was my 2 riding buddies, that the Tenere kept up with a very spirited ride and is extremely nimble in the twisties. I've read about the bikes handling but its not until you really push this bike that you see just how capable it is. I'm in no way saying this bike will handle as well as their bikes but for a bike this big with 19" front and 18" rear it does extremely well. I had this bike between 5000 and 7000 rpm for much of the day and it performed flawlessly. I found the vibration in the bars pretty noticeable at those levels. I bought this bike for its all around function, from commuting to offroad, to insanity. It has lived up to my expectations ::008:: Granted, I've invested a lot into aftermarket mods, but not every bike will be able to perform in such a variety of conditions. This is a great bike and I would suggest to anyone who is on the fence about investing in an S10 to try and ride one. For those skeptics out there who trash upgrades, unless you've actually tried a bike with the mods you are criticizing, bite your lip. This is an awesome bike that holds its own with many more expensive rides and is worthy of the upgrades you might be considering.

yep, very good bike.
I have similar mods (front springs on their way, yacubar two way adj. shock) tb can.
It did awesome in california, over six days, 3000km, on a 50/50 tire no less.

I was with two others (honda st1300, 2013 zx14r), for the most part they saw my tail light, except for straightaways, funny how 100 hp difference is sooo noticable ::014::

As a CT rider, i would be very interested in the route you took on your ride. I'm always looking for new and interesting rides and would appreciate your input.

I'll try and get you the exact route. We took the Hutch to 22 and past Limerock raceway. Went towards Kent and then back down following rivers and some awesome twisties. I hope that gives you some idea of where we were.

I have modded many bikes and find there are good mods for every bike.

Suspension being the one that tends to provide massive benefits to almost any bike regardless of owners style of riding and preferred roads.

Power mods on most sportsbkes do little as they tend to have an abundance of power, but can make the bike feel a bit crisper, the exception being low down restrictions ala Tenere in 1st - 3rd which seem to be becoming more common, but again some riders may not notice them so much as others, as a mountain twisty fan who tours two-up this is another huge benefit for me.

It does not matter what you say to many people they will believe the manufacturer knows best, or that you have wasted your money, if you look at the CJM / Flash / Suspension feedback everyone who has done this unanimously agrees it is worthwhile, some may put it on their wish list or decide they don't really need it, whilst other will just criticise, but the opinion of a mod, by someone who has not tried it is a bit like taking the Pepsi challenge with just one cup of Cola ::010::

Your experience is what most have been saying for sometime. I have 42,000kms with lots of extras; it is an excellent bike and I don't see myself parting with it soon. ::025::
