Based on another thread, I'm curious what owners think of the vibes on the S10. Vote and clarify with a post in here if you like.

As I have posted in another thread, I have ridden many bikes and this is by far the worst in the vibration dept.
I am now wearing a wrist brace because of the vibes and needless to say, the bike is not being ridden.

It is strange that so few people notice this, while others say their bike is vibe free, or they don't notice.
Perhaps it is a problem with only certain bikes..

Only my last 2 runs have I had any problem with vibes. The only place I find any issue is with the throttle. The throttle is tight and as a result I have to put more pressure on that hand and after I get off the bike I have a numb feeling in that hand. Bike as 1600 KM on it now but only had the problem in the last 200 KM.

My daily ride a KTM SuperDuke 999cc V-twin.
My wife's last bike was a Ducati Monster S2R1000.
Both vibrate a lot more than the XTZ.

sounds like you need a little more alone time to work out that wrist. :p

Have ridden a RC51,, Monster, and Triple. All bikes vibrate. If ya dont like it, go electric.

I have not had problems with numbness or tingling due to vibration. Since this is a more relaxed riding style with less weight on your wrists, a slight vibration should not be detrimental

Bit of vibration....

Less than the VStrom

A bit more than the Tiger 955i

About the same as the 1200GSA

Figure it'll probably smooth out after I get more miles on it.

Even though I can tell it's a twin, I don't feel anything I'd call a problem as far as vibration. I do not disbelieve the people who have problems with vibration on their bikes, and I am sympathetic because I know it can be miserable, but whether my bike just runs smoother or I'm less sensitive, I'm not feeling it.

I have done some of my longest days on this bike. 500 mile days a few times.

At my age, it's more about the back than any other part of my broken down body. :)

Vibration really hasn't been an issue. But I have wanted the grips to be larger in diameter on long days. And I have found great relief from using one of those wrist supported cruise control plastic thingys. (can't remember what it is called)

I have a VTR and a KTM950. I suspect both of them would be more tiresome for a long day than this beast.

Sorry to hear it's so uncomfortable for others.

"Perhaps it is a problem with only certain bikes.." Or just certain people, this is an incredibly personal and subjective area. The same vibes on the exact same bike can annoy one person, cause pain or numbness in another, or not even be very noticeable or bothersome to another person. For me, My ST vibrates a fair amount but its a lot less bothersome that the higher frequency inline 4-cylinder buzz on my wife's BMW k1100lt or her old Yamaha FZ6. The ST is smoother than my old SV1000S with a 90 degree v-twin and a lot smoother than any KLR650 I have ever ridden.

I voted “Normal, as expected…”

I now have a little over 3,500 miles. I just rode up to Birmingham and back; 600 miles each way…no vibration, no numbness, no pain. I too believe these guys that are posting about having vibration problems here and over on advrider. There’s probably an answer…hope there is anyway.

I don't recall any excessive vibration. I found the bike quite smooth, and I have a Honda ST1300 to compare it to. R

That to me is the ultimate comparison. The ST 1300 is like glass. It is by far the smoothest running bike that I have ever owned. It is the best pavement mostly bike that I have owned. It really stinks in the dirt though.

I feel a little buzz over 5000 RPM, but it's not like that's a normal cruising speed... (for me anyway)

Other than that, the bike is so vibe-free that I removed the rubbers from my SW-Motech footpegs - don't need 'em.

I never thought about vibes untill it showed up on the web.I have ridden almost every motorcycle built in the last 40 years, the Tenere has to be in the top 10 percent as far as being smooth and tingleless{is that a word].The worst I remember was a 1979 Yamaha 650 twin, that thing was awful to ride but good to look at.Hope you find the problem whether it`s the bike or a medical problem,I have carpal tunell in both hands so I know all about tingling and numb hands so i have to have some type of throttle lock or cruise control to comfortably .Good luck

I find it fairly smooth for a twin and never a fatigue or discomfort issue. But.... I do find it different than other bikes in that the vibes are mostly dependent on throttle rather than RPM. I can be booking along in 6th into a headwind doing 100 mph holding quite a bit of throttle and the bike will be thrumming quite a bit, but when I back out of the throttle it goes dead smooth, almost like the motor disappears. I've never had another bike act like this.

I've noticed some vibe's but not to bad. This is only my second twin. I had the Triumph America and it was smooth. I also wish the grips were bigger. Thinking about putting some "grip Puppies" on. I had these before and there very comfy.
