On my S10, no matter which Mode I'm in, when I shut the engine off and start it back up it stays in the same Mode. So if I leave it in S and shut her down, when I restart it's still in S. I've read on here somewhere that on some S10s thats not always the case. It reverts back to T Mode everytime on Startup. Traction Control does that for sure, always back to 1 on startup. Just wondering what what other Members are experiencing. Tks.

Stock, the mode setting stays at whatever was set previously (at least in the US). Some modded ECU's do not act this way and revert to 'T' mode upon power-up.

Aussie bikes (and SA bike's, I think) always start in the same mode (S or T) as it was when turned off.
TC mode is different as the bike always reverts back to TC1 when restarted, which is a real pain in the ass.

Yes, my SA bike stays in the mode selected at shut down. The parts manual I have lists the same PN of ECU for Europe/SA and France/Belgium spec bikes: 23P-8591A-00 I imagine the UK spec bike ECU has a different PN?

Swedish bikes stays properly in choosen mode luckily, would hate to fiddle with mode selection every time I ride. I use
only "S"mode, even in the snow, it just gives me better control overall. ::001::

My 2011 UK spec bike stays in the mode that was being used when I switched off. It has never 'defaulted' back to 'T' mode.

Hi Pete, I am sure you are mistaking in this matter. All bikes remain in the same mode they were in after shutting down. It is only after the Diapason flash that the engine defaults back to T mode after the engine is shut down.
Diapason hase done this so one does not get caught by the powerincrease by suprise and in case an emission check is performed, the unaffected T-mode is used when starting the engine.

Hope this clears up any misperception / confusion this may have caused. ::008::

That's what I'm liking, because we get emissions checked every 2 years. Preliminary impressions seem to indicate that the Diapason T-mode feels totally stock, while the guys with the other flashes are reporting their T-mode feels better than stock possible indicating the ECU unleased guys f*ck with the map in both modes. I'm hoping the AFR maps are separate in each mode. Going by your comments as to the reasons why Diapason defaults to T mode, this seems to be the case . 8)
