Just back from the HU (Horizons Unlimited) meeting in Cambria.

The rumor around town was that the S 10's aren't going to be sold anymore! ::) ::)
Herd it from a number of riders. ???

I'm like WTF!
Only 2 other S 10's up there. IMHO the S 10 is the most capable of the lot. Tons of GS's (of course).

The rally was DEAD, not'in but talk ( blah, blah, blah) standing around and looking at bikes or listening to ride tales. NO organized rides. Boooooring! :-[

Yamaha Canada is purporting a major announcement on Nov. 4, concerning the Tenere. We'll see. It looks like it will still be around up here, anyway. R

OK...... I guess I should do a search, not new news.

I'm in shock! Why aren't the S 10 moving (selling) ??

I swear if you could have perspective buyers try the S-10 they would buy over GS, Tiger and maybe even 990's! What the hell ???? I don't get it!

Some one should offer test rides across the street from a beemer dealership.

Seriously though....... what gives with the S-10's, what discourages buyers ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? I friggin love this bike.

LOL, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the Horizons Unlimited gathering is, an un-ralley. These are people that Ride, around the Earth kinda stuff, why would they have to do little putts around town?

Actually few were true overlanders, even fewer international overland riders. There's allot of beautiful riding on the 1. Just surprised. Still fun hanging around bikers!

I totally agree that the ST is the best of the ADV. Tourers and I can say that because I've owned GS BMW's, the Triumph Explorer, and the KTM 990 Adventure. The Yamaha is less expensive, offers equal overall performance, and is far more reliable. The Super Tenere is a newcomer whereas the GS has been around forty years or so.
When I ride up to the Rock Store here in L.A. there are twenty BMW GS 1200's to my Yamaha yet there is always a crowd of interested onlookers asking questions about my bike. Heck, you would think I worked for Yamaha because of all the praise I give them!
It sure would be a shame if the Super Tenere was discontinued.

The Vstrom was a poor seller for several years after its first introduction and it eventually caught on. I hope this is just a false rumor and Yamaha continues to import it to the US, as the bike is slowly catching on, without any marketing support from Yamaha. I've owned a 1200GS and 1200GSA and wouldn't go back. I'm very pleased with my S10.

Snakebitten, I think you have hit the nail right on the head. The Super Tenere is an under appreciated over achiever!

This is new to even me. I usually only see this rumor once a season before it gets quashed. Now it's happening twice in the same season.

Let's wait a month and see if we can make it three.

I was at IMS San Mateo and the hint was Electronic Suspension. He liked the idea of a 3-cylinder but his look was not inspiring.

Ha ha, it's like Don says... last year I rode there from DC, and left to come to Sth America. Last thing I was thinking about was a ride around the block! ;)
