Rubber inserts in footpegs

One of mine fell out. Does anyone run the bike with these removed? I'm wondering if I should try and find a replacement rubber, take the other one out or maybe buy an aftermarket set with a wider footprint. I'd rather not spend the money to be honest. I never noticed it missing until I parked and saw it. In other words, the ride feels exactly the same with the rubber in or out.

If you can't feel the difference with or without it, take the other one out and toss it. It is only to help minimize vibration while you are seated. When you stand up, the rubber compresses so that the cleats on the pegs keep your footwear from slipping.

That's what I was thinking too. Of course, I was wearing my riding boots last night when I noticed it missing. Off road boots. I may notice it if I was wearing sneakers. Not that I'd ever do that. haha

That's the theory. I never found the rubber to compress enough and it was annoying. I rode with the rubber removed until I bit the bullet and bought some better pegs. Personally I'd never go back, but my wife has the stock ones on her bike, and I still find them very annoying.

Which pegs did you go with DD?

I got the Pivot Pegs. I'm indifferent about the pivoting part of it, but I really appreciate the larger size. I spend a lot of time standing and the bigger surface area is more supportive and less pressure pinpointed on one specific area of the foot.

Getting sick of my inserts and about to take them off. If I wanted to avoid vibrations I wouldn't ride a motorcycle.

I took mine off and got the pegs from Jaxon. I have a set of the OEM pegs if anyone wants them.
