I ordered the longer hoses from Tabasco. Have not received them yet. $132 total with freight. Check him in the vendor section.. not safe without the longer hoses. It gives you both hoses brake and clutch.

Well, that is total horseshit. There are many riders here using 2" risers with OEM lines.

A simple search of the forum would reveal numerous threads and even a how-to tutorial to loosen up plenty enough slack in the OEM lines to run 2" risers. I am running 2" risers and Flexx bars atop them and I still use the OEM lines. I well over 10K miles on this setup without a single issue - including 6100 TAT miles last summer.

Do what you want with your brake and clutch lines, but educate yourself beyond blanket statements like the above. Longer lines are not a bad idea and Jaxon is the way to go for them.

The handlebars and their position are slightly different on the Gen2 models. You might want to try the stock position first before you try the risers. Owners have complained about the excessive movement of the bars (because the mounts are now rubber mounted in the triple clamps) with risers. There are ways around not having to replace the cables (trimming 1/2" off each end of the bars or re-routing the cables) if you like. There is also a way to minimize bar movement with the risers using washers.

YIKES... I stand corrected. it appears many have rerouted without the longer hoses. I am going to try to cancel my order.

I went with the Rox 2” and extended cables. Were the cables required? no and there is a known work around, but is that the best choice who knows. Other people have been fine with the work around so far, however Yamaha made the stock cables to fit the stock configuration. Adding the risers changes what Yamaha had intended with the stock cables and people seem to be ok with the work around, but I like peace of mind knowing a one off chance of failure won’t leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere and consider it cheap insurance. People take risks all the time like not wearing seat belts and go years without issue until that one time something bad happens. It is a personal choice at the cost of a few more dollars and it is each person’s risk to take.

Peace of mind is a good thing, but having said that, adding 2" risers to rubber mounted bar clamps will be your next issue if all that stuff listed in your sig is on your bike for good reason. More likely than not, you will not be happy with the spongy feel of your bars now, with those risers, especially off road.

Dully noted on the spongy feel that may or may not bother people. Doesn't bother me as of yet. However the OP was asking about the cables and I just wanted to provide my personal choice. Ride and be happy.

Hey can I get in on this?

After seeing and riding another Tenere with stock lines and 2" risers and seeing how tight they were,
I would never do that, but he felt comfortable with it on his bike so I don't even care.

I had 1-1/8" risers on mine and that's not an issue there, but now I'm at 3-1/2 so I had to make line extenders.

+1. Can it be done? Yes. Should it be done? No.
