Rotopax & Rox risers questions.

I got an AltRider gear rack which can take the Rotopax system but also wonder if anyone know how easy it is to attach the system onto my SW-Motech side carriers?
Thought about the non muffler side on the inside of the carrier but then I suppose the 1 gallon is maximum. On the outside of the carrier I planned to have one gallon and then soft panniers over it.
Can I use the extended Rotopax fastener for just one tank and if I want an additional in the future I already got the extended version.
Do I need a back plate to attach it all onto the SW-Motech side carrier or is the carrier already capable without having to buy a backing plate?

Anyone that think the 2" Rox risers are great? Thought about less rise but like the pivot system on the 2" ones. If I also want a taller handlebar I probably need to invest in longer lines, is the clutch & brake lines enough or do I need longer throttle cables as well? How about the electrical cables that is situated on the handle bar, will it fit approx 2 1/2" taller handlebar/riser system (such as Flexx plus Rox 2").
The pivot system seems to be great since it looks like it might fit many other bikes as well when it comes to trade the ST in.
Maybe 2"+ is too much, I`m 5ft 11 (180cm) tall, just trying to change the posture and hoping that it will feel better for the hand comfort if the bar is higher situated.
Many thanks.

Hi Red Dust, I would suggest you use the search tool here... all the questions you have asked have been discussed in depth over the last several years that the SupaT has been out.

I run rotopax on SW racks and rox 2" risers with Fasst Flexx bars and Tabasco's extended brake and clutch lines.

You will find pictures and lots of discussion on all these topics. Search is your friend, use the force.... it is all here. ::008:: ::008:: ::26:: ::26::

I have been searching the Forums but some forums take ages to find stuff so I thought if people want to help out with direct answers I`m very grateful. Ok so I can expect to change the clutch/brake lines and nothing else, not too bad.
Cheers!

these are the rotopax 1.75 gal that I set up with my own design, I run Wolfman soft bags over them. SW motec racks.

risers with stock brake lines, but they were tight so changed out to Tabasco's long lines.

Fasst Flexx bars with 2" rox pivot risers and extended brake lines. ::26:: ::26::

Cool!
Since the muffler is on the left side and weigh a 5-6 pounds plus that side is sticking out a bit I thought only having one 1.75 gallon (first I thought 1 gallon but after seeing your pics I might as well go for the larger 1.75 gallon one) on right hand side and then put my soft panniers on top which would make the weight kind of similar and width probably very symmetric. It looks great with 2 Rotopax on your bike but think I only need 1-2 gallons of spare fuel at the moment.
Might need to make a bracket to fit the mount on at the back of the carrier or does Rotopax come with an adaptor that would be suitable for the SW-Motech ones?

The risers looks great! That is the ones I`m looking at, I believe. Is that the 2" rise x 1 1/8 stem x 1 1/8 pivot?
Since I really think the Flexx bars would be great (but very expensive....) I do believe longer lines will be necessary since the bars would be another 1/2" higher, roughly.

Another question for you, do you believe it might be to high rise with the 2" or just perfect, maybe even higher would be better?
The pics were great and answer many of my ongoing questions. :)

2" rox with the Flexx bars is a good rise and sweep/pull-back for me.

I have a bit over a 600km range with the Rotopax which I need for some of the remote rides here in Yukon. We have old mining roads that exceed 250km in length so one must pack fuel for a 500km+ round trip. I hand fabricated the Rotopax mounting system for my SW Motec racks. Wolfman has a rotopax/rack system available now but did not when I designed my system.

Looks great. I will need to make it differently since I will alternate my TraX panniers with my soft luggage. Might make a plate at rhs behind the carrier and somehow attach the 1 or 1.75 gallon on the outside of the carrier then the soft panniers on top and remove RotopaX when riding with my TraX panniers, or just go with the 1 gallon and fit it on the rhs inside, maybe even the 1,75 gallon would fit on the inside?
Could please have a look if that is possible with the 1.75 gallon to put it on the non muffler side on the inside of the SW-Motech carrier without it touching anything when I compress the rear suspension?
Appreciate that!

troll: Can the Rotopax containers be mounted horizontally? For the duty that Roto's are designed for, I would think even the vent cap should be liquid tight in the transport mode.

I believe you can put them in any orientation that you wish. I have not had any leakage from the caps at any time. ::008::
