Hi, I am installing a Rostra cruise control unit on my bike and am at the final stage of the installation and am stuck
I am trying to find the Vehicle Speed Sensor wire (VSS) to tie the unit into
All information that I have found is to tie into the blue wire going to the abs unit. I found no solid blue wire but found three wires that are blue/grey.
I tied into one of them but got a trouble light while doing the diagnostic test on the unit
Any help would be great.
Thanks, Ken

I had the same problem, in the pic, it looks like a blue wire with red or brown bands on it. I think I used the one with the brown bands.
I had issues with the unit surging, or hunting for speed, and could find no settings to calm it down.
I would set the speed, and the bike would quickly surge about 5 mph over the setting then the unit would abruptly close the throttle until it was a few mph below the setting then punch it again.
It was almost like trying to ride a wild horse. I could find no switch setting combination to help calm down the abrupt movement of the unit.
I finally just removed the whole thing and am doing without...
:( :'(

I will be selling the cruise control as I don't want to bother with it again, it was such a pain in the ass, to have such bad results :-(

Well, I looked through all the posts and didn't find my answer. My add may have been a factor in that though. lol.
I ended up tying into one of the three blue with brown/grey slashes in it and the speed sensor works.
As stated by others, the cruise control works great in touring mode and is touchy in sport mode. Sport mode seems to be fine if you give it a little throttle just after activation and ease off of it.
This will work well enough for me.
Thanks for all of the help.

Woods, I just completed my installation last week and had the same problem finding the blue wire. I cut open the harness from the abs harness to the ecu just forward of the rear subframe bolt. I found the blue wire hidden at the very bottom of the bundle of wires. Do not use either of the two sarker blue wires witb the black stripes! I exposed the wire and trimmed a short section and used a jumper wire to the grey vss signal wire to test the signal. Give me a shout via pm if you need more info.

Oops, I guess I didn't read the prior post completely. I found that using the T mode with the 4cyl high setting for dip sw 7,8&9 worked the best. Overall I'm satisfied with the Rostrs's performance with the ECU Unleashed flash.

Seems like everything coming from the YST forum goes into my spam folder so I missed the update.
I have been running it for a while and am pretty happy with it. Much better than a mechanical unit but not as good as factory.
Worth the time and money for the outcome.
I did use the darker blue with with grey notches for the speed sensor. Works like it should
