Room between crossbar and windshield?

Could someone give me the measurement of free space between the crossbar and windshield on a 2014+ model?
Bike shopping and I want to know if my current gps mount will fit.

Thanks

::025:: So you're buying a bike on whether your GPS mount fits it? What is it made out of platinum? Now that the laughter has stopped, I cannot tell you the measurement as not near my bike, however, mine fits, but as the crossbar moves with the shield it would fit anyway, unless you plan to mount between the bar and screen?

As Dogdaze write, it depends on where the windshield is.

But in lowest position, measured horizontal it is about 70 mm (2,75")
In highest position measured same way, it is about 110 mm (4,33 ")
I measured in the middle of windshield (it curves of course)

But you will never mount the GPS horizontal, so it can be much bigger. And I don't think any GPS is that big, from where the mount is.

Wow - Didn't know I would elicit sarcasm from my first legitimate question on this forum.
(Perhaps I should have posted it in Jo Momma at Advrider and let the inmates unleash their fury on me?)

Anyway, I'm merely trying to figure out if I can keep my old, over-engineered Touratech mount or if I'll have to find a new one.

The gps sits dead center on the bar, however, there is a good amount of real estate taken up, both fore and aft of it, and I was hoping there would be no windscreen contact.

Thank you for the measurements, Nikolajsen. That's exactly what I was looking for.

There's plenty of room for any mount, but in mentioning Touratech you added some info. They went to a low mounting adapter because their mount is so big it covers the turn indicators at the top of the cluster and a bit of the other display, such as the clock, gear position, and heat level for the grips.

Even so, some folks have used it, so here's an image from the web. It's shot from below normal eye levels so shows most of what would be hidden.

I appreciate all of the pics, Checkswrecks.

Here is my Touratech MvG that I use for my aged (up to date and still going) Garmin 2610

Looks to me like the Touratech low mount would create a visibility problem and the OEM Yamaha might work just fine using the MvG.

I made my own mount, directly on the handle bar. And I can see all on the display because it is below, and does not take any view out through the windshield.
Hold really tight arounf the handlebar, with a single HEX bolt from underneath.
Made of ALU.
Very nice work!

I have a Zumo 590 in a Touratech mount mounted on the crossbar and there is no interference. The only issue I had was slight blocking of the turn signal indicators but solved that with Touratech 065-0525 which raises the mount.

Makes me laugh these days when someone ACTUALLY answers the question.....

So glad I can make you laugh.
The way I see it...the man have some question, and the only thing I had to do, was to go 25 step out, measure, and go 25 step back in...NO BIG DEAL
There are no silly question, only stupid answers ;)
