I'm resident just outside the Peak Park and know the area well. However, i'm more than happy to travel to a meet anywhere in the UK. After all, we do have a brilliant long distance bike to ride there on. ::26::

Hi guys been reading for months but registered after reading this thread, I'm from up in the north west (Preston) and I'm loving the bike and enjoy there's not many around. Only ever seen another one at devils bridge and it's nice to see a fellow owner for a chat, as I either don't look like a biker or BMW owners only chat and nod at fellow BMW owners.. Going in for my 2nd shoulder operation of the summer on Tuesday so the bike will be out of bounds for a few months which is a shame.. Be nice to have some sort of S10 uk owners club..

As one of your cousins from across the pond, I'd like to apologize to you guys for that "1%" thing. I wasn't aware that such mindless drivel had spilled across to all of you. That's embarrassing. Sorry about that.

Pardon my interruption, please continue.

Sorry if I'm a bit slow to catch up with you and I'm not being funny at all here, ( you know what its like sometimes trying to get your messagae across) :-X but whats to appologize for regarding the 1% quote? Like to assume your are on the same wavelength with repect to this discussion over the S10 's relative rarity over this neck of the woods? Feel free to interrupt mate... ::008:: :D

I have heard they are uncommon in your area. I believe I also heard that Yamaha was not able to get them to you at an attractive price. If accurate, it's easy to speculate on why they are so rare. From my perspective that is disappointing. I would like to see the bike wildly successful in all markets. It's a great bike and I would like to see it have a long run with updates over the years.

Depending on where you are in the states, it can be a very similar situation. In my area around the Washington, DC region it is common for me to see at least one Tenere on every ride of any length. However, my friends just 250 miles to the west of me tell me they never see another Tenere.

Not looking forward to the op but without it I'll never regain the strength and she's a big bugger to move around with a weak arm that's for sure.

It is nice being a bit exclusive, but I totally agree with you I too would very much like Yamaha to succeed with the S10. To follow it through with updates, etc over the next years like they've had chance to do with the GS would be great. I'm a Yamaha man at heart, so if ever I'm going to stick with this style of bike, then I'm more likely to upgrade to what Yamaha have to offer after developing over time, so sales they will need in all markets. Over hear from what I gathered the S10 struggled at the start due to exchange rates with the Japanese Yen. Think its settled down now and looking at classified adds there seems to be some superb used prices floating about. More bums on seats, hopefully a bigger following with good reputaion built. I've done over 2000 miles so far on the S10, but still yet to see another one on the road other than my mate whose got one...

Ya need to install an electric turn table for the big girl. Thats what I could do with for mine. A little testing sometimes, multi turning the beast in a confined space through rutted 40mm plumb slate... ??? I've got hand, knee, lower back n neck problems, but apart from that I'm fine! :D Good luck with the op tho mate...

Good news xengibez, just back from the hospital & the pronounced my rotator cuff to be 100%, they reckon its a trapped nerve. I asked them about the risk of compression Surgery after your message & they tell me there 90% sure its trapped as in lay mans terms & not the physically trapped type, there words but good news anyway. Good luck with your operation!
