I have the Yamaha OEM crash bar installed on my 2012 Super Tenere. I am planning on purchasing the Rigid Industries SR2 6" - Diffused. However I can't find a mounting bracket that will attach to the mounting bar that will fit. The space between the two mounting points is 6-7/8" There is also a bar perpendicular to the cross bar that I'm sure will interfere with the standard included mounting bracket. The question was asked before but the part was never mentioned in the answer. http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=10962.0 Has anyone already solved this problem?

Yup, that was how I did it. The brackets had to kind of sit out on the "bend" of the crash bar as it were. May not sound like it would stay put but once everything is tightened in place, that light will not move. I had to kind of fold the bracket and tuck the light in there. I don't have any pictures of it installed on the OEM bars unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. If I understand correctly, use the brackets shipped with this unit and sort of manhandle it into place using the the two lower forward facing bolt holes?

Oh, I didn't realize you were using the supplied brackets. I got the tube mount brackets that Rigid sells. I never tried to mount using the supplied brackets.

In the thread you linked in the original post, I had mine mounted to the RUMBUX bars (similar to OEM) using this tube mount from Rigid Industries. http://www.rigidindustries.com/mounting-options/41020

Using that the tube mounts are closer to the bend in the bar at the top near the headlights. Puts the Rigid light just under and behind the crash bar.

If you need I can get some up close pictures of them installed on the RUMBUX bars tonight and post...maybe that would help?

Ahh. Now I understand. Thanks for the clarification. If you want to post the photos it might help someone else who comes along. I'm good with your explanation. Thanks so much for your help.

I used a flat plate and used the two bolts through the brace to mount. I then bolted the Rigid Brackets to the plate. Light stays tucked in behind the crash bar and is high enough that it cannot hit the Fender on full compression. The crash bar does not interfere with the light output and the Amber cover slips on and off with ease. The Bike looks like an evil Bug coming down the road. No issues on or off road in about 3,000 miles ::013::
