Rigid Ind Dually vs SR2 Lightbar

Hi all,

I've seen the 'best aux lights' thread among many other lighting topics, but my question is specific to the two products mentioned, hence the new thread.

I'm stuck between buying the dually 1st gen spots (same as 2nd gens driving led) and the driving light bar. Theres a significant price difference but I'm happy to pay the premium if the difference is as noticeable.

I've read many comments praising the driving light bar, but none for the dually driving lights, nor have I seen any fitted under the headlights. I'm looking for a light that has considerable reach compared to stock high beam with sufficient spread to light up either side of the road (not expecting anything major though). Seems the light bar fits the bill perfectly, however if the dually are equally as effective then I might get them instead.

Grateful for comments from users or both...or either ::008::

Another question, does the lightbar with OEM headlight guard throw a light back towards rider?

I run the SR hybrid light bar on my ST and Duallys on something else, so take this for what it's worth - you'll get more light from a pair of Duallys and have a bit more ability to aim them. Upside to the light bar is that it integrates like it belongs on the bike. I see no strange reflections from my light bar and the OEM headlight guard.

Also my $0.02, unless you are running the desert, I would consider the hybrid optics vs spot.

Thanks for the feedback Ironhand. I think I'd prefer the duallys, but the ease of fitment and natural look of the lightbar are soooo tempting. Having played around with the RI simulator I think the driving lightbar might fit the bill illumination-wise also. Ahh decisions decisions :D

I've had the Rigid light bars on two Teneres. Like the girl said, work fine and last long time.

Just posting for the noobs to be aware that the front wheel has 7.5" of travel. It's enough to break the front fender or crush some of the aux lights if they are mounted below the headlights.

Hi all, apologies for dragging this thread to the top. I'm about to take the plunge and I want to be sure I'm getting what is right for me. Whatever I chose will be expensive and they are not sold where I live so I'll have a friend from the UK bring them over.

Thanks to those that have already replied.

I've considered the D2 Dually driving over regular Duallys, however I think they are too bright (or are they??).

I'm pretty much swayed towards the light bar as it appears to have width and distance. Ultimately I would like to know if the 6 incher provides copious light for night riding on pavement....be it twisty country roads or high speed motorway.

No apologies needed. I've got the 6" Rigid Combo, ride a lot in the dark, and love it.

+1
I recently installed my Rigid 6" lightbar and also have Cyclops LED bulbs. Just did an all night ride and was blown away. Freaking unbelievable light output, I couldn't imagine anyone needing more light.

I can see where this is leading...6 incher it is then ::012::

I see they have a theft prevention security bolt, which seems pointless as a potential thief could just undo the brackets? Or is not possible to reach the bracket bolts without taking the light bar off first?

Someone is really going to want that light bar to be able to take it off. I personally wouldn't worry about it.
