Hello all,
Just got home a bit ago. Went riding around locally today, eating, visiting friends, etc. When I left my friend's house it was well into the night and a brilliant full moon. All the way home I just marveled at the brilliance of it, the fields to either side were lit up, the bottoms of the clouds were sparkling. Just a fine moment of riding. Just had to tell someone.

Sounds like you maybe had one of those very "in the present, this is awesome, life is good" almost surreal riding moments. Have had a few of those before... the most vivid when I was riding through the sugar cane fields of Hawaii, beautiful mountains in the background, headed to Waikiki beach. Just an awesome feeling!!

Yes. Nothing like those moments. I live in Alabama and want to ride out west so bad it is pitiful. Just never seem to have the money to go on long trips (retired).

very early in the morning and at night under a full moon, the best times to ride I think. Unfortunately the deer populations in these parts make that a risky thing to do but in the wide open places out west, 'magical....

I want to ride out west so bad. I am retired and just don't have the money to do so. Sad to have the bike for it but no real long distance travel money.

The west is the best.....just sayin!!!

Seriously, I hope that your finances get better and you get a chance to get out here, especially under a bright full moon. It is breathtaking to see the moonlight reflecting off of a desert landscape.

Velvet,
The sad part is that I wold have the money, etc, but I co-signed with one of my sons on a $3,000.00 cash loan and also a vehicle. He welched on both of them. The $3000 buck loan and I got sued about the vehicle for the remaining $6,800.00 bucks so put a long story short, I am paying back right at $10,000 bucks because of his ass. So I did a consolidation loan with my own loan, etc, and got it all under one payment of $402 a moth. That, my bike payment of $378 a month, some credit cards, my house payment, utilities, etc, etc I am just screwed until I get the credit cards knocked down and that big one knocked down. Because of him I had to put my life on hold, o at least traveling. Dammit man! But you can bet your sweet ass if I ever get it all knocked down or come into some money I am hitting the road.
