Wow. First a lady, second on a Super Tenere and thirdly here in Alberta. Unheard of. Best of luck on your recovery. Don't think you'll be riding home today if you're in Calgary. Serious snow storm happening right now. Once you're 100% and cozy back home, maybe you can let us know happened. Hurry up and get better. ::003::

Read the blog Liz love your attitude. Hope you have a full recovery. Liz when I was sixteen I had 72 VW beetle I've thought about adventurizing one to take my wife to South America no way she will ride behind me that far. They won't go fast but a rack and a roof tent you can be comfortable. Air cooled and the simplest maintenance a few spares to take but parts are everywhere down there. They are getting hard to find not rusted out but not impossible. Whatever your journey Best Wishes!

Thank you for sharing the blog about what happened. More important - heal up and stay with us on your progress.

You guys are the best! Thanks so much for your well wishes and positive energy. I am indeed on a detour to my original plans to travel to South America. My shoulder is badly broken but well on the way to healing. I'm heading for my first post-op appointment this morning. Have been well looked after by good friends and am recuperating here in Calgary before heading back to Ontario later next week. Will also be visiting my bike which was taken to Blackfoot Motosports to confirm whether it's fixable. From what I've seen and heard so far, it's not likely. I've been told that the Altrider Crash bars I installed just before I left home in early August - saved my legs. From an unfortunate incident, I have certainly received a lot of good fortune!
Glad to hear that you are well taken care of! I wish you a speedy recovery and many more awesome rides in the near future!

I have been following Liz's recovery progress and she seems to be doing well. She went to the Toronto motorcycle show in early January, and is looking at a replacement bike. I think she may be leaning toward something a little smaller and lighter than the Super Tenere. Whatever she chooses, I wish her well. ::008::

Liz,

I read your Anatomy of an Accident it does happen that quickly with little if not any warning.
That voice in your head is a good friend same thing happened to me as well, it may be warning you of things to come and not of the present.
Next time I will listen!
Hope your doing well chime in.. ::003::
