Our 1st Annual Vancouver Island Adventure Ride is planned for Saturday July 18th, 2014. Depending on time we might do a scoot somewhere on the Sunday morning too.
As I understand it you guys will be traveling up on the Friday (July 17th) and arriving late afternoon / evening.

We own and operate a full service RV park and camp ground (www.allfun.bc.ca). The RV park has full wash rooms showers etc. I also have a covered area that we can park bikes and gather under should the weather be crappy. For the non camper types there are two hotels close by, Bear Mountain resort (http://bearmountain.ca/) and the Sheriton (http://www.fourpointsvictoriagateway.com/). Bear Mountain is expensive and the Sheriton won't be cheap either but if there were a handful of guys they have not bad rates. There are lots of other hotels and motels with various rates back in Victoria to choose from which is about a 15 - 20 minute ride from the camp ground. If you can give me an idea of rider numbers and budget for those wanting a hotel / motel I can shop around for them. We have pretty good relations with the other businesses here.

As for the riding we have a couple of routes planned. There will be both paved and dirt roads. We weren't planning on anything more difficult than what you guys provided. If the hard core guys want difficult stuff it's out there! I can provide them with a map some bear spray and a bible. Depending on numbers we will break into smaller groups using the same format you guys did with a lead and a sweeper. the plan was to stop for lunch at the half way point then work our way back.

As for costs we haven't got that far yet. I can certainly get some good rates for the camp ground and Speedway. At this point it kinda depends on how many riders will attend.

Planned events,

Friday July 17th,
- Casual evening meet and greet at the camp ground.

Saturday July 18th
- Breakfast at the camp ground,
- Ride lower Island back roads all day
- BBQ dinner at the camp ground,
- Walk over to Speedway watch some racing!

Sunday July 19th
- To be determined, maybe another breakfast and a short ride?

I will let you know more once we have firmed things up more.
Any questions please feel free to email me. ridetherock@westernspeedway.net
