On Friday Feb 4th, we take delivery on our new SILVER XT1200Z Super Tenere in Chiriqui, Panama, Central America. A month later, we'll start from here on a 3 month ride up to Texas, then Florida, then San Diego, then Pacific North West, then Idaho, Yellow Stone, Grand Canyon and on to Panama. Any one wanting to join in for part or all, let me know.
We'll probably visit some of the larger Yamaha dealerships along the way to share stories & photos of the now famous and beloved "S10's". GP

Motopan, please make sure we meet up when you come through San Diego. I would show you some local roads if you want. It would be nice to at least meet to say high and see the bike.

I'm back from lower B. C. Just flew in tonight. Had a (mostly) awesome trip. Whitehorse to Radium Hot Springs, B. C. 1,600 miles. Left my bike there, will fly back in the spring and ride 'er home. It was 90 degrees there yesterday. I'll tell you all about it someday.

Good to be home, but a great trip. Hope you boys did okay without me. Yeah, I figured. R

Welcome Back Rem - what bike did you leave and why? I guess you'll need to start another thread for that.

I took the mighty Tenere. Riding season is about over here anyway. I left him in my friend's garage in southern B. C. and flew home. I will fly down next May and ride him back home. He performed magnificently and at one point I got 50 miles to the U. S. gallon without trying, and I was well loaded. Here is a pic of Mr. T near a glacier on the road down into Stewart, B. C. R

I got home today from a 7 day trip to Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. The Tenere performed flawlessly, all I did was put gas in it and go. Fuel mileage and range are good for my travel needs. Fuel range yielded me 220 to 250 safe miles per tank and I never put in more than 5.2 gallons. The worst mileage was 43 MPG, the best was 53, except for the tank that was 166 miles inside Yellowstone Park at speeds between 35 and 50. I can hardly believe the fuel mileage myself but it took 2.7 gallons to top off when leaving the park that adds up to 61 MPG. I put on 3900 miles and had great weather until the last 350 miles coming home in and out of rain most of the day. I rode the Badlands, Beartoth Pass, Yellowstone, Custer State Pk, The Big Horn Mtns and a lot of roads in between. I'm impressed with Tenere and really happy with the bikes road manners. It tours well, handles the twisties well and is fun to ride. I did 900 miles yesterday from Rapid City SD to Peoria Illinois.
My Rostra Cruise works great, rarely does it ever vary more than + or - 1 MPH. The TP Checker works as advertised, another good purchase. I have 6567 miles on the bike now, the front Battlewing looks good, the rear Battlewing looked good until the 1500 miles interstate ride home squared it off. It probably has another 1000 or 1500 miles left in it but I'm going to replace it before heading to western North Carolina next week.

Wow! Very cool pic with that glacier in the background. 8)

We should have a hall of fame gallery for photos like that.

Bummer on the season, that's pretty short.

Sounds like an awesome trip...any cool photos to share?

I haven't even seen 45 mpg yet. Was kind of hoping for better than that on average. :-[

Indeed it is. I have my ST1300 to console me for a few more days yet. Supposed to soar up to 55 today. But I'll sure miss Mr. T. But come next May, I'll go down and fetch him back home. He's being looked after.

Not a long ride had to go to Corner Brook for work today so took the bike and a few pics along the way.

On the way you have to pass a ski hill

farther down the rode is a lookout for the man in the mountain its a natural rock formation inthe cliff of a man with a hat on.
The tale goes that it was put there by pirates to guard over their gold on shelbird island. :-X Its not a very good pic you need full
sun on the moutain to see it,I'll try later.

And over looking Corner Brook it was great riding weather 15c and sunny.

And the best one is from the weekend at the cabin.

^^ Cool pics. 8)

I got my son a PW when he was getting started. Cool little starter bikes. He bugged the heck out of me to put a paddle tire on it...so I did.

Met up with Jaxon and Japako in Hico Tx, had a great breakfast/lunch ( I don't do "Brunch"). We set out to do some riding on some dirt roads, did a couple and Japako had to get back so Jaxon and I spent the rest of the day finding as much dirt/gravel as time would allow. Had a great time and got back home with 313 miles on the clock. That's Jaxon in the pic. This is the filthiest my bike has ever been. Love it....
