Just worked about an hour trying to bolt up a new Ricochet Skid Plate on my 2015 S10 ES. Just can't seem to get it up on all four mounting points. Seems like it is hitting the filter preventing from sliding it back. Have called Ricochet and they have been very responsive and are checking it out. But does anyone have any hints in getting one of these on or have experienced similar problems??

Could it be the Catalytic converter on the rear of the headers that is stopping it from bolting up properly?

It appears to me the OEM Oil Filter is where it is hitting and preventing it from moving back into position. Two Yamaha sources have confirmed it is the shorter of the two filters that fit. I will continue to work with Ricochet and keep everyone posted.

I have a Ricochet plate on my 2012. I've not had any trouble with it hitting the oil filter, even when using the K&N filter with the welded on nut. When I put the plate back on the bike it can be a bit tough. I have to start by getting the front bolt near the oil filter on then work to line up the remaining bolts underneath. I dont know if the plate is different for the 2012 and 2015.

I bought a Ricochet last June and they hadn't made a new one for the 14+ models and it would not fit my 15 ES. I returned it but see now that they do have 2 different models.
