Twisted Throttle and some of the others like that are way overly expensive for what you get sometimes. Only time will tell.

They have a tool on their website to check what's instock on the showroom floor before you go up there. Generally it's going to be their best selling stuff over 400. They also pay for your sales tax, and allow you to use points in the store.

Normally I buy alot of stuff through Rockymountain ATV because their cash rewards program, and 10% off your next order is pretty damn good, better than Revzilla's. Their brands are limited, and if you want something from Altrider, be prepared to wait 3-4 weeks+ to get it. If you need to return it - it's even more painful. I ordered an Olympia ranger jacket that supposed to fit a 46 inch chest, it was about 3 inches too long in the sleeves. Took me over a month and a half to get an exchange because they ship the slowest possible route from their Payson, UT location. Revzilla's customer service has been way better. Had a Sena remote show up DOA, rather than making me return the entire 10u set (after it was already installed in my helmet) they exchanged the remote one for one. That's better than Sena's customer service.

I buy 75% of my stuff online from them , I think they are the best especially buying helmets $7.50 for return shipping fee !! Unbeatable
Now that being said i wish they would have some of the quality stuff they sell online in the store .
Like the bikes that are in the store should be loaded with the goodies they sell LED lights , crash bars , handlebars , new style tires ?????
I WILL go back ( call first ) i just wish that there store was packed like Cycle Gear except with quality stuff .I also have the problem of a 2XL helmet and 2XL gloves which usually means slim pickins and expensive , the Revzilla retail store sadly is no different .

Bummer, Cyclegear seems like the Walmart of motorcycle gear. Aisle of aisle of motorcycle stuff... cheap, low quality motorcycle stuff. Granted there is a much bigger general market for that level of gear, so you can't blame them for going after the mass market. Revzilla seems to cater to those looking for high quality gear. Will be really sorry to see them go if the rumors are true.

So just how bad is the Revzilla brick and mortar store? My wife needs a new helmet and we were planning to drive up there to allow her to try on a huge selection of brands and models. I was assuming they would have everything in the store that they have online. Is that a bad assumption on my part?

Their helmet selection is excellent. And their fit guy is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. That's the great thing about them. Shop the deals on the website, it's not obviously marked down in the showroom so you'll be checkin' prices a lot.

Cyclegear is great in some respects. They have a good selection of oil/oil filters/general maintenance items and motorcycle tools that you'd otherwise have to order. I got a great deal on a motorcycle ramp for my truck. Kinda wanna go back and get another one.

I like the way you think!
There's room in the market place for both, I hope the new owners of Revzilla agree.

I get a kick out of all when whining here about the merger when we have absolutely no idea what the it will mean to the consumer. Me, I bet nothing changes. Revzilla will continue to provide quality products and excellent service and on-line sales, Cycle Gear will still be their for their to meet the need of it cliental and perhaps expand their product line to include premium products. I'm hoping!

I doubt a customer service representative would know what was going on, or not going on, with a corporate merger. Generally that information is kept close to the chest of the decision makers.

Most of the company staff find out just before the close of the sale is announced to the public.
My experience has shown that often rumors have SOME truth to them, even if it isn't exactly as reported via the rumor mill. We'll find out soon enough...

According to an article on page 34 of this week's Cycle News, it IS in the process of happening.

Well, this is really bad news. Revzilla was one place where prices were right, shipping was free, and there was no sales tax. Let me repeat that last one, no sales tax. Now that they have a California presence they will have to charge sales tax unless they keep the brand separate somehow.

I read the note published today as saying the holding company will be common between ZLA and Cycle Gear. However, the companies sound like they'll run as separate entities.

I got an email from Antony earlier today, not to worry guys! Take a look:

Paul

Dear ZLA Army,

Over the last week, the buzz surrounding RevZilla’s future plans has been at the redline and the hardest part has been staying quiet in the face of the mixture of fact, fiction and sensationalism. We've been itching to share our next plan of attack, but we weren't able to do so until an agreement was signed (the deal is still subject to regulatory approval). We’re happy to finally be able to share details and give you a ZLA level of transparency via this letter and the linked FAQ.

Today, we are excited to announce that Matt, Nick and I will be partnering with J.W. Childs to form a new holding company that will own both Cycle Gear and RevZilla. Both sister companies will operate separately, but the ultimate intent is further elevating how all motorcyclists are served, online and off. It is an opportunity we have watched and evaluated since Cycle Gear was acquired by J.W. Childs in early 2015.

So, why now?

A little over eight years ago, Matt, Nick and I founded RevZilla out of our apartment and tiny store in Philadelphia. We set out to build the destination that we thought was missing from the motorcycle industry: natively digital and customer experience focused, with passion taking top billing from the expected norms of selection and low prices.

You could say we have been aggressive in attacking the opportunity and RevZilla’s success has certainly reflected that. We also have always tried to find the balance between full throttle growth and being responsible for the livelihoods of the now nearly 200 people on staff. It’s been sweepers and whoops for sure, especially being bootstrapped and self-funding it all. It’s also very surreal to think that we took our first order from our bombed-out Philly apartment where Nick's room had a sheet for a door.

RevZilla could easily follow the double yellows and be successful doing what we’ve always done, but we like new challenges, placing big bets and playing to win. We also like to think that we understand the next generation of commerce and have the vision to shape what we believe the future should be. It’s in our DNA as entrepreneurs.

Today, the larger and more exciting opportunity is to think about how RevZilla can leverage new capital to scale more quickly and entertain new opportunities like our own retail destination stores or international expansion. We’ll still operate with the same orange culture and ethos that has earned the trust of riders for the better part of a decade. We don’t know how to do it any differently and I’m not about to sit back as the leader who remembers what "the orange used to mean."

Apart from the benefits to RevZilla, we also believe that our new parent company could leverage our superpowers to accelerate and elevate Cycle Gear. The current Cycle Gear team is talented and focusing their attack on the right things while navigating a lot of change. We’re excited to support the effort moving forward.

So what does all this mean?

RevZilla and Cycle Gear will continue to operate independently, as sister companies owned by myself, Matt, Nick and J.W. Childs. Regarding the internet's concerns about carelessly smashing the companies together tomorrow — Stop. Exhale. We're two brands and two companies. The dumbest thing we could do would be to screw up the things we're already great at; the things that so many of you love. The era of big companies faking it at the consumers’ expense because of limited choices is long gone. We believe the internet and the abundance economy of limitless choice rewards brand meritocracy. Staying in the lead means continuing to earn it with you, just as we always have.

We’re juiced to shift into the next chapter. We trust our instincts and are still having a blast. We’re still betting on ourselves, TeamZilla, and now J.W. Childs, that we can continue to change the game. For over eight years, we’ve been contrarian about what would work in motorcycling, but you have continued to help carry our message. Because of you we’re relevant, have a huge audience and continue to have the huge orange balls to pull off huge new things.

It has been downright amazing over the last few days to see the level of protectiveness you showed for RevZilla in social media and the forums. You get it. You appreciate it. We’re still waiting for you at the bar, no gold chains in sight. I pinch myself that we created a brand you are so connected with. If we can’t continue to make RevZilla better while keeping our promises, you should shop somewhere else. RevZilla exists because we wouldn’t stand for any less, and neither should you.

RevZilla’s mission will remain to advance the experience of the motorcycle enthusiast through community, content and commerce. Our job is still to find your pain and alleviate it. Matt, Nick and I are still firmly at the helm and we’re certainly not looking to alter a secret recipe that so many of you love, just expand our orange dent in the moto-universe.

On behalf of the Founders,

Anthony Bucci

Regulator posted a link to the same text and s number of us were probably on the same distribution as you. I'm really relieved, as it looks like they are going to keep the companies in their own niches, sort of as a High-Low marketing concept. Smart, as they already both are successful and probably can save some admin this way and be better at finding financing for inventory and expansion of the brands which they are keeping separate.

Well certainly the distribution was far and wide, likely based on their customer list. Dahhhhh! O:)
