does anyone with a Black bike have the LED signals installed.

I've seen them on a blue bike, but want to see what they look like on a black one because I'm undecided about them

I'm installing mine now (as in the front of the bike is apart). I should be able to post some pics up this evening.

The only issue is you will lose the running lights. The LED signals are 2 wire were as the US Tenere signals are 3 wire. I'll be setting the LED's up as signal only and add some LED driving lights later.

Running lights? You mean the stock signals are always on? I didn't know that

Anyway your pics would certainly be much appreciated

If that's true, it's something I would like to keep.

I am also keeping my stock signals. I thought I would like the EU better, but after seeing on my USA bike, I will keep them.
I am all about being seen, and I think the stock ones are better in that department. jmho

Gat, if possible: If you could take a short video of the signals blinking, I would be very grateful.

Only if it's easy to do so, not a big deal if you can't. thanks

Alright, they're done! As I mentioned before the stock front signals are running lights but the LED signals are not set up to support this. I cut the connectors off the stock signals and capped the blue wires (running lights) and soldered the others to the LED signal wires (I did not use the supplied bullet connectors). One word of caution though - the stock connectors DO NOT fit through the nuts that hold the LED signals on. You must put the plastic spacers/ trim pieces and nut on BEFORE soldering the stock connector (don't ask how I found this out...).

I also did the rear signals tonight. They were much easier as I cut the stock wires and crimped on the supplied bullet connectors.

I am very happy with these LED lights. This is the look I was going for (blacked out bike and lights). The LED's are VERY bright when they flash. Unfortunately I do not have a video at this time but I should be able to get one up tomorrow evening.

On with the pictures!

Excellent work Gat.. That's the look I enjoy with the LED's - They just blend in when not operational and you have to actually look for them.
The tinted screen looks great on the black bike.

I am so happy for you guys finally getting your new scoots. :)

Greg.

Thanks Greg, but you're the one who deserves a thank you! Your ADV thread was, and still is my inspiration.
If it wasn't for your great pics and very informative write-ups I would not be doing all this. Yes, you've cost me a fair amount of coin but it's worth it.

So thanks for everything you've given this community. I really look forward to adding the WASP red decal kit 8)

I think there's a way to wire them to be running lights yet the sig wire will interrupt the running light... I've seen that done, just an fyi.

I thought about doing that with relays but decided against it. I am going to add some driving lights and LED running lights which will make the bike more conspicuous.

Where did you get the Yamaha Headlight protector? Thought they were not coming to US?
I ordered it from a Yamaha dealer in Canada. BTW, it says "Off Road Use Only" which I need to remove... ;)

For you guys doing the LED turn signal replacements, you can still use them as running lights if you would like to.
By adding a diode on the 12v supply wires to prevent backfeed and a resistor to reduce the voltage, you can run the leds at a reduced output to provide running lights.
I've done this same thing before to use a LED strip light as a tail light and a brake light.
