replace oil pan?

As per the low ground clearance on these bike I hit a deep pothole at a high rate of speed and ended up riding the front tire only for a short distance. Bent the skid plate , steel bracket for the skid plate, oil pan and the aluminum "pick up" at the base of the pan. I have been getting by with JB weld in selected areas so far, but still a persistent leak. I have traveled nearly 8000 miles this way but it's time to fix it correctly. Anybody changed out their oil pan and was it as easy as I hope?

You're in luck. While I've not done this, the folks who have all have written that it was bolt-off and bolt on. The pan isn't even that expensive. From the home screen put "oil pan" in the search box.

To prevent a next time, some people have cut off the lug from the bottom.

Yea. I had to replace mine on my 2012 S10. Piece of cake. Paid $165. for new one from Yamaha USA.

What I did was cut that stupid nub off so if you bottom out the skid plate the whole pan will take the force and not the nub.
