Yes, Forks are taken apart. I just never pulled the cartridges from USD forks. Wondering if there are any differences between these and conventional forks regarding the removal of the cartridge from the fork leg.
The factory uses some pretty stout locktite on the cartridges. I had to use more heat, more force than I was comfortable with in removing them, especially the compression cartridge. That said, I didn't hurt anything and it was all pretty straight forward.
Got the cartridges out. The cartridges were spinning in the fork leg and I had to fabricate a tool to hold them in place while the bottom bolt was removed. Seems like a special tool is needed to fix the top of the cartridge. Anybody have suggestions on opening the cartridge?
