Has anyone done a reflash on the"14?
I had a re-flash done on my '14 ES. Living in Germany, this was done by Off-The-Road (www.off-the-road.de) ... typical German company name ;) They are well-respected ST specialists here. The re-flash was done immediately after the first service at 1.000km. My riding experience since then was mostly mountain passes (Italian Alps, to be precise). I mention all this, because I can not provide you with a real A/B-test report, as I did not ride full throttle during the break-in period. So, my experience is mainly based the un-restricted '14 ST.

Having said that, here is what I found:

The difference only concerns second and third gear full throttle situations, so you will only find a difference there. However, this is exactly the scenario when you fire out of a narrow switchback on a pass - actually, you do this 49 times climbing the north ramp of the Stelvio until you reach the pass height at 2700m. In these situations, the bike performs exactly as a 1200cc twin should: Grunty, loads of midrange power. The bike does definitively not feel "tuned" in any way, it feels as you would expect a big twin to run.

S and T modes are still intact, which to me means the T mode is as un-useable as it was before removing the restriction. The S mode on the '14 offers quite a direct throttle response anyway, very comparable to a LC8 KTM twin, and this has not changed after the re-flash, thankfully.

Shortly after the re-flash, I swapped the air filter in favor of a K&N and replaced the stock can with the Akrapovic can. This made another difference as the engine now seems to rev more freely. In sum, this is how I think the bike should perform from the outset. If it had, I guess that many comparisons between the GS and the ST would have worked in favour of the ST (expect for those reviews in the German bike press, of course).

If I had to sum up my experience with the re-flash (and the K&N and the can), it would be: Character.

The re-flash is something I would personally recommend for those who ride in S mode. If you ride in T mode on the '14 ST (which feels like you are constantly pressing your rear brake), it is probably a waste of money.

My 2c, as always.

Well I think most of us here know Jaxon of Rideon fame but in satdish's defense I see he posted from the Tapatalk app and when reading the forum from the app, the signature info doesn't show up.

I wonder if there is any way to compare the reflash done in Germany to the reflash done here? Sounds stupid but without looking at the data there is no way to know if the results would be the same.
What I am personally looking for is a tune that would let my S10 run and accelerate faster on the straight stretches of road we have here in FL. I don't want to get left behind every time we take off down a straight road.

Donk, I hope you get to leave FL now and then, I can't imagine a more frustrating place to ride a ADV bike...
If I was forced to live there I would have one of those stretched and slammed ZX14s or similar....with a turbo...n nitrous...and a bit fat tire...and a slutty girlfriend for cruise nights....yeah.....
Wait, that's it, you must slam, stretch and turbo the S10....your environment insists...and don't forget the slut

Well I am riding tomorrow night, not everyone can say that! My S10 is at my house in WI, I have a Triumph Explorer down here. I ride it like it's a Speed Triple so it works. Thinking of trading it for another S10 but don't know if it's the best bike for down here. Not sure I could run with the K1600 or outrun a GS!

Yeah it sucks here in Florida with an ADV bike. Rode an hour to Ocala National Forest yesterday, ride all day in the dirt, and an hour home and it's 70 degrees and sunny. What are you doing today?? Freezing your ass off??
