There are no stupid questions, only stupid people
I just saw this on my local off road forum.
Guys - sad news. Some of you may remember Dick Boyer (Red Cat) from the old ADSMC group. He was the guy that first opened my eyes to how fast you can travel on gravel many yrs back. I just saw a post on Advrider about him having a fatal deer encounter on the long weekend - here is what Earl posted late last night:
"Tragic crash Saturday September 2 /17.
Around noon just south of Turner Valley AB. (about 50km SW of Calgary)
Red Cat was involved with an apparent deer strike riding solo on a gravel road.
He was found almost immediately and transported to Black Diamond Hospital and then airlifted to Calgary.
Sadly, he passed away Sunday September 3/17."
Edit/update from Earl, RCs Calgary friend:
Head injuries required surgery but there was no brain response.
He was taken off life support around 4 PM next day Sunday Sept 3/17
RIP Richard Boyer, aka RED CAT

Update: Service Saturday, SE Calgary

Since riding a motorcycle was such a huge part of Dick’s life and one of his biggest passions you are invited to ride your motorcycle to the celebration and park in the special area as guided by the funeral home staff. Our bikes will form an honour guard of respect for Dick.
Jason just confirmed that his correct email address is jrheffernan@gmail.com . Please send your photos to this address.
