I've got plenty of time and I think I'm "spoken for" for the next couple of years. Both my old manager and my former team lead who's moving into another group are scheming to snag me the next time I'm eligible to work at Intel. They have various rules for contractors. I can only work 12 months within an 18 month period. It has to do with co-employment law. Anyway, the rule has changed since the end of my last rotation in June. Now I can do 18 months in a 24 month period. I'm eligible to go back to Intel on Jan 1st 2012. If I get "away" credit for the month off traveling, I'd be booked up until July or August 2013. Throw in a month to sleep...
My current non-Intel project is scheduled to wrap up on Dec 31st, but it might snowball into something much larger. It might run for another year+, if things shifted around a bit. At the last management meeting, I was told "the project scope and budget may be increasing." I'm building a laboratory information management system from scratch. I'm interacting with the testing equipment, handling data flow across geographically separate systems, test validation with user approvals, blah, blah, blah... It's all about blood testing for newborns. Cool stuff. Complicated but cool.
