Howdy all. I just finished removing rear wheel (thank you, Twisties, for excellent tutorial), replacing rear tire with Heidenau K60 from Jaxon at Ride on ADV (thank you, Jaxon, for the tire), lubing drive shaft (can't remember for sure who wrote this tutorial, maybe ChecksWrecks?, but thank you), etc., and reinstalling rear wheel. Wonderful posts from here led me through the process, step by step. I really appreciate the efforts of those on this forum who have done these tutorials. Thank you.
Question of Twisties (and maybe Dallara, or whoever else might want to weigh in with their thoughts), who wrote the post I followed for the "How To Reinstall Rear Wheel." When I reinstalled Speed Sensor Housing, there was something that I was supposed to take special care to insure was aligned properly with something on the back side of the brake caliper. I'm not sure I got it properly aligned, but when I took the bike out for a very short test ride, the speedometer worked. Does that mean I got the Speed Sensor Housing oriented properly (even it it was only by chance)? There were two marks on the Speed Sensor Housing, one of which seemed to be two parallel lines (like on the front Speed Sensor Housing). The other mark was either a "V" or an upside down "V" or a ">" or a "<". Which mark was I to use, and what was it to "align with"? The only thing I could find on the back of the brake caliper was what I think was the back side of the grommet which held two lines on the outside, right side, of the brake caliper.
I'm guessing this alignment of the Speed Sensor Housing mark, with the "??" on the back side of the brake caliper, is critical. If I have to take it apart to do it right, I will gladly do that. But I would prefer not to have to do that if I don't have to.
Thoughts? Ideas? Help? Thanks.
