Rear tension bar bolt

One bolt I had not checked. Bike only has 16K on it. Luckily I was only a block from my home. Pressed down on the rear brake and heard a bang and no rear brake. Front was still working and got me home.

When the assembly went forward, it pinched the brake lines, jamming between the rear forks and caliper. Does not appear to have caused any other damage.

The "self locking" bolt didn't stay locked. Guess they will not warranty this....

I do consider myself lucky. I had just got off the freeway splitting heavy traffic.

I don't know what happened here, but the odds of winning the Powerball Lottery are better than the locknut backing off by itself.

Whoever did the last tire change forgot something. Oops. Did a dealer install your wheel or did you do it?
I go to a tire shop that only does motorcycle tires. Tires (K60's) have been on for 10K miles so far.

Unfortunately no one stocks the brake lines, so they have to be ordered from Japan. Guess I will be without the bike for several weeks....

Can you not get after-market lines, I'm sure a vendor on here sells them?

Really sorry for you. Most good bike shops can make up brake lines so you could do that whilst waiting for the 'official' ones to arrive?? Good luck.

Jaxon at Ride On ADV sells the stainless braided lines for the rear. They may be in stock.

Lucky? Or maybe just good luck. Towed the bike to a local shop (don't have my tools currently), and the line wasn't bent too bad. Apparently the leak was caused by the line loosing up when it hit the swing arm. So new bolt, tighten the line, and bleed the system, and the bike is back on the road.

This will give me time now to look into a new braided line for it. It will be replaced as even though it is working and safe, I will be more comfortable with a new replacement line.
